For most people, the Fourth of July is the peak of the summer season. Even though there's still much more summer to go, the patriotic holiday is the true centerpiece of summertime in the United States. But that doesn't mean you want to spend every second in the sweltering heat. Instead, Netflix has plenty of must-watch new releases coming this week to keep you cool indoors.

As always, the first day of a new month brings over a dozen new titles, as Netflix always drops the majority of its new releases on the first. On July 1, Suits season 9 arrives along with the original Spider-Man trilogy and other fan-favorite movies like Uncle Buck, Big Daddy, and Easy A. And that's just scratching the surface of what to watch on Netflix this week.

Wondering which titles you should be making room on your watch list for during the week of Fourth of July? Here are four of the week's biggest new releases, including a new movie, a popular throwback series, a docuseries everyone will be talking about, and a classic movie trilogy!

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F

Eddie Murphy returns to one of his most famous roles in the new Beverly Hills Cop film subtitled Axel F. The new Netflix original sequel marks the fourth film in the Beverly Hills Cop franchise and comes 30 years after the last movie was released in 1994.

Axel F finds Axel joining forces with his old friends and his daughter's ex-boyfriend to protect his daughter from a threat against her life. The new sequel premieres on July 3 and also stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Kevin Bacon, Taylour Paige, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, and Paul Reiser.

Lost

It's time to go back and rewatch one of the most influential modern television dramas of all time. Lost first debuted on ABC almost 20 years ago in September 2004. In celebration of that unbelievable anniversary, all six seasons have returned to Netflix as of July 1.

For the uninitiated, Lost centers on a group of plane crash survivors trying to make sense of what's happened as they fend for themselves on a dangerous island full of mystery. While some have found fault in the series finale, you can't deny that Lost helped popularize binge-watching as we know it.

The Man with 1000 Kids

Right now, there are many documentary series that are popular on Netflix, including the second season of Worst Roommate Ever, America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Dancing for the Devil, and plenty of others.

On July 3, one of the year's most shocking docuseries hits Netflix, as The Man with 1000 Kids tells the story of a sperm donor scammer. The three-episode series comes from those who made Lover, Stalker, Killer delves into the families that were shaken by a Dutch man who traveled the globe and fathered uncountable children.

Back to the Future trilogy

What's summer without a blockbuster? And what's summer without a little nostalgia? Combine nostalgia with blockbuster and you get all three Back to the Future movies, which returned to Netflix at the top of July.

The time traveling coming-of-age movies are among the most popular of all time and have remained so since the 1980s. No doubt, they're some of the most fun you can have while watching a movie, and you can watch these beloved throwbacks with the whole family. This week, make it a movie marathon or a three-night film festival with Back to the Future.
