The Spiderwick Chronicles isn't on Netflix: Where to watch the series

The Spiderwick Chronicles starring Freddie Highmore was one of our favourite films growing up! Based on the beloved book series by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black, it had us yearning for our very own magical adventure. Now a decade and a half following its release The Spiderwick Chronicles will return to our screen on April 19, 2024, in the form of a TV series!

The series, directed by Kat Coiro, will follow the Grace family - siblings Jared, Simon, and Mallory - as they move into their family's ancestral home, the Spiderwick Estate.

Upon arrival, the children discover a secret, fantastical world of fairies and other magical creatures around them. The main cast includes Lyon Daniels as Jared, Noah Cottrell as Simon, and Mychala Lee as Mallory. The series will also feature Christian Slater as the villainous Mulgarath.

If you were hoping to catch The Spiderwick Chronicles series on Netflix, then unfortunately you'll be disappointed as the magical series will not be available on the streaming giant. But fear not! We have all the details as to where you can catch the new fantasy show below!

Where to watch The Spiderwick Chronicles TV series?

Despite initial plans for The Spiderwick Chronicles to debut as a Disney+ original series, it won't be gracing the screens of either Mickey Mouse's streaming service or Netflix. How many episodes of the show will be available?

The series is set to be released in its entirety on April 19, 2024, exclusively on The Roku Channel, and it will consist of a total of eight episodes! Currently, there are no plans shared for a second season. However, considering that the series has yet to premiere, it may be too early to speculate about future seasons!

Will the original Spiderwick Chronicles film be available on Netflix?

Unfortunately, there are currently no plans for The Spiderwick Chronicles film to return to Netflix's library following its removal in 2022. However, if you're eager to experience the original magic, you can find it available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video or Paramount+!
