In early March 2024, Netflix dropped all six seasons of The Resident on its platform. We were over the moon about this release and couldn't wait to binge-watch the entire series. Although it didn't make the streamer's top 10 TV list right away, it has finally ranked on the list as of March 21. It's sitting at the No. 9 spot, meaning many people are streaming it. Hopefully, you're one of these people as well!

As you make your way through the seasons, you might’ve noticed a tribute to a person named Chris Harrell at the end of an episode. If you're wondering who this person was, we've got you covered and explained who they were below.

The dedication appears at the very end of the season 6 premiere titled "Two Hearts." Just before the credits start rolling, a title card reading "In Loving Memory of Chris Harrell" pops up on the screen. However, there's no explanation of who this person was.

Dedications in movies and TV shows are usually used to honor a person who was involved in the production or was somehow connected to the project and passed away. After digging deep and doing our own research, we found out Chris Harrell's connection to the medical drama series.

He wasn't an actor in the series but a crew member. He appears to have played an important role behind the scenes of the show. While it's unclear what his exact role was, we do know that he was part of Teamsters Local 728, a company based out of Atlanta that provides assistance with the production of movies and TV shows throughout the greater Atlanta area. The Resident was primarily filmed in Atlanta, Georgia.

According to a GoFundMe page set up for Harrell, he passed away unexpectedly during a medical procedure in 2022. Several people left words of support on the page. One person wrote, "Chris was truly a great role model in the filming industry. Never a dull moment with this brother, always had a great story to tell. He could make anybody laugh." The page also contains a picture of Harrell smiling as he holds a small fish in his hand. It appears to be a picture that was taken when he was out fishing.

After Harrell's passing, The Resident co-creator Amy Holden Jones also spoke on his significance to the medical drama back in September 2022. When a fan of The Resident asked on X who Harrell was, Amy Holden Jones responded by saying that he was "a long-term crew member who was treasured."

It's clear that Chris Harrell was loved by many people, and our sincere condolences go to his family and friends.
