Fox's medical drama series The Resident was recently added to Netflix, officially on March 4, 2024. All six seasons (107 episodes) are streaming after the show wrapped officially on January 17, 2023. Even though it didn't immediately enter the Netflix Top 10, odds are that many people will discover (or rediscover) The Resident now that it's accessible through the streamer.
Prior to being added to Netflix, The Resident has also been available on the Disney-owned streamer Hulu, but it was one of several series licensed to Netflix as part of a deal that also includes shows like Reba, Archer, White Collar, This Is Us, Home Improvement, My Wife and Kids, and more. These shows will be available, non-exclusively, for 18 months.
Matt Czuchry stars in the leading role as the titular resident Conrad Hawkins. He's joined by Emily VanCamp, Manish Dayal, Bruce Greenwood, and more. The series follows the lives of the doctors and patients at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital. If you're a fan of other medical dramas like Chicago Med, Grey's Anatomy, Transplant, and 9-1-1 then The Resident would be a great choice for your next binge watch!
When will The Resident leave Netflix?
Since The Resident has been licensed to the streaming service for 18 months and it started streaming on March 4, 2024, we can estimate that the series will leave Netflix in September 2025. It's a little unclear if the show will depart on September 4, 2025 on the dot, but it's probably best you watch all episodes before then, just in case!
The good news is that even when The Resident exits Netflix, it should still remain on all other platforms, including Hulu and any other third-party services like SVOD or linear where all seasons have already been accessible (currently you can purchase seasons on Apple, Amazon, Google Play, and Vudu).
