The Lincoln Lawyer season 3 confirmed for 2024 release by Netflix

If you’re one of the many Lincoln Lawyer fans who was annoyed when reports broke earlier this year suggesting that the upcoming third season wouldn’t arrive until 2025, boy do I have good news for you! It seems we won’t have to wait until next year for The Lincoln Lawyer season 3 after all! 

During the Netflix Q2 2024 Earnings Interview on July 18, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos closed the call by looking ahead to the final months of 2024 and beyond and he used the opportunity to promote some of the many titles fans can look forward to. When prompting the lineup for 2024 that’s still to come, Sarandos teased that fans can look forward to a new season of The Lincoln Lawyer, seemingly confirming season 3 will arrive in 2024. 

“Just before the end of this year we’ve got Squid Game’s return, Emily in Paris’s return, a new season of Selling Sunset, The Lincoln Lawyer, The Diplomat, Virgin River, Love is Blind, Ryan Murphy has an incredible new season of Monsters. That’s all just coming up before the end of the year,” Sarandos teased. 

While Netflix has not directly commented on the release timeline for the third season, we have to imagine Netflix’s CEO wouldn’t promote a show as coming in 2024 if that wasn’t the case! 

The Lincoln Lawyer season 3 likely coming in the final quarter of 2024

Originally, it was speculated that The Lincoln Lawyer season 3 would be pushed to 2025 via a report from Deadline that hinted that the hit legal drama would not return in 2024 for a new season. However, that rumor seemed to have been dispelled when Ted Sarandos promoted the show as coming in the final quarters of 2024 which is music to fans’ ears! 

No exact window was provided for when the new season might arrive but we have to imagine that September would be the earliest The Lincoln Lawyer could return for season 3 as the August line-up is pretty stacked. We don’t have many releases for September through December just yet, so it would make sense for Netflix to hold The Lincoln Lawyer for release during the final four months of 2024. 

A fall release would be a first for The Lincoln Lawyer as seasons 1 and 2 arrived in the summer with season 1 coming in May 2022, and season 2 dropping across July and August. 

Netflix is known for dropping bigger releases in the final quarter of a calendar year and so we wouldn’t at all be surprised if the show dropped in the fourth quarter of 2024. What will be interesting is to see when exactly the season might drop, but knowing it should be coming in 2024 and that we won’t have to wait until 2025 for the new season!
