I don't know about you, but I'm always in need of a good laugh, especially after watching multiple action flicks or gory slashers. After watching content like that, I need something less dark and more light-hearted to watch. Luckily, Netflix always has just what you need, and this March, it will be releasing some of the funniest shows ever on its platform.
Several of these shows slated to be released soon are truly comedy classics, while others are so funny that you'll find yourself constantly going back for a rewatch session. Scratch that! All of these shows that we're about to list are certified rewatchable. Yes, I just made that word up.
If you're curious to know what funny shows are coming to Netflix this March, all you have to do is keep reading. There's some great content landing on the streamer very soon!
The Jamie Foxx Show
Release date: March 1, 2024
We're only a day away from the release of The Jamie Foxx Show on Netflix, and we can hardly contain our excitement. The entire comedy sitcom will be landing on Netflix on March 1, so you won't have to jump from place to place to watch it. Since there are a total of five seasons and 100 episodes, you might want to clear your schedule for the day. That way, you can sit back, relax, and binge-watch the complete series with no interruptions.
Academy winner Jamie Foxx stars in the leading role as Jamie Percy King, an aspiring actor who moves to Los Angeles, California in hopes of pursuing a career in entertainment. But in order to support himself while there, he works at his aunt and uncle's financially strapped hotel. Of course, there will be distractions like the beautiful front desk clerk Francesca "Fancy" Monroe (Garcelle Beauvais), who wants nothing to do with him. But Jamie isn't the type of guy to give up easily. He's determined to make it big in show biz and capture Fancy's interest.
Christopher B. Duncan, Ellia English, Garrett Morris, and Andy Berman also star in the comedy sitcom.
Martin
Release date: March 31, 2024
Sadly, we have to wait until the end of the month to see Martin on Netflix, but we'll definitely be counting down the days. Like The Jamie Foxx Show, the Martin complete series will be dropping on Netflix this March. Yes, this means all five seasons (132 episodes) will be available to stream. While there will be more content dropping on Netflix on March 31, we strongly suggest making Martin your top priority.
The comedy sitcom centers around the life of Detroit-based radio DJ, Martin Payne, his romantic relationship with his girlfriend, Gina, and the everyday lives of their friends. Martin Lawrence stars as the titular character, while Tisha Campbell plays Martin's girlfriend, Gina. The rest of the cast is made up of Carl Anthony Payne II, Thomas Mikal Ford, Tichina Arnold, Garrett Morris, Jon Gries, and others.
The Conners
Release date: March 27, 2024
Netflix definitely made the right decision by acquiring the streaming rights to the hit ABC sitcom The Conners. On March 27, the first five seasons will be landing on Netflix. Unfortunately, the sixth season will not be added on this date since it's currently airing on ABC. However, there's a good chance that Netflix will obtain the streaming rights to the sixth season some time after it finishes airing. Of course, we'll let you know if this ever happens.
The Conners is a spin-off continuation of the comedy series Roseanne. It's a show centering around the lives of the working-class Conner family. When the matriarch of the family suddenly passes away, the rest of the family members find themselves having to not only cope with her loss, but also the daily struggles of life in a way they never have before. John Goodman stars as the patriarch of the Conner family, Dan Conner. Talented actors Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson, Michael Fishman, and Emma Kenney are also in the cast.
Girls5eva
Release date: March 14, 2024
It was a sad day when Peacock announced that it wouldn't be continuing Girls5eva after two seasons. However, our favorite streamer swooped in and saved the day when it decided to pick up the show for a third season and announce that it would be adding the previous seasons to its platform too. Now, we have the official Netflix release date for all three seasons of Girls5eva, and it's March 14!
The Emmy-nominated musical comedy series centers around a one-hit-wonder girl group from the ’90s who gets a shot at a comeback when one of their hits gets sampled by a young rapper. The amazingly talented main cast includes Sara Bareilles, Busy Philipps, Paula Pell, and Renée Elise Goldsberry.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine
So, Brooklyn Nine-Nine isn't actually coming to Netflix in March because its first four seasons were already released on Feb. 26. However, we thought we'd include this show on the list because it's definitely one of the funniest shows on the platform. Hopefully, Netflix eventually obtains the streaming rights to the last four seasons of the show so we don't have to look elsewhere. We'll come back and let you know if this actually happens.
Here's what the comedy series is about via Peacock:
"Watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine, a comedy series about the detectives of Brooklyn's 99th Precinct. Hotshot Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg), overachiever Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero), tough-as-nails Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz), sweetheart Charles Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio), devoted family man Sgt. Terry Jeffords (Terry Crews) and clueless best friends Scully and Hitchcock make up a loveable and offbeat squad that must get its act together when the office gets a new captain, the no-nonsense, unflappable Raymond Holt. Along with civilian office manager and social butterfly Gina Linetti (Chelsea Peretti), nothing will stop the crew from doing what it does best, bust the bad guys."
Will you be watching any of these funny shows on Netflix this March?
