When a faculty instructor receives a call regarding the death of an unknown uncle, she finds herself thrust into a dangerous world revolving around her inheritance and the many people who want to get their hands on it. JUNG_E star Kim Hyun-joo stars in the lead role as Yoon Seo-ha. Besides Hyun-joo, the cast of The Bequeathed features many other talented and recognizable Korean actors. Keep reading to find out more about cast and characters.
Kim Hyun-joo as Yoon Seo-ha
If you watch a lot of Korean dramas then you likely recognize star Kim Hyun-joo, who plays the main character of The Bequeathed, Yoon Seo-ha. Kim Hyun-joo is also the lead in Netflix's Hellbound, Trolley, and the 2023 film JUNG_E. She's also known for the series Glass Slippers, Twinkle Twinkle, and I Have a Lover. In this latest series, her character, Seo-ha, finds her world turned upside down when she learns she has been left a significant inheritance from an uncle she didn't even know existed.
Park Byung-eun as Park Sang-min
Captain Park Sang-min is one of the leading investigators at the center of The Bequeathed as he looks into the death of Seo-ha's uncle. He walks with a limp that he received through a traumatic injury connected to another detective, his former superior Choi Sung-jun.
Actor Park Byung-eun is no stranger to Netflix titles, having previously starred in Kingdom and Kingdom: Ashin of the North. Some of his other projects, such as Oh My Baby and Because This Is My First Life are also streaming on the platform. He's also in the upcoming Netflix K-drama Hong Rang, which will debut later this year.
Ryu Kyung-soo as Kim Young-ho
Kim Young-ho is another very important character at the center of The Bequeathed, but I don't want to give away his role in the story, so I'll just say that he shares a surprising connection to Seo-ha. As for actor Ryu Kyung-soo, he has actually worked with Kim Hyun-joo a few times now. They both star in Hellbound and they were in the film JUNG_E together as well. Hellbound season 2 is expected to arrive on Netflix sometime this year. Kyung-soo's other projects include Itaewon Class, Lovestruck in the City, The Sound of Magic, and Glitch.
Park Hee-soon as Choi Sung-jun
As mentioned above, Detective Choi Sung-jun is another detective tasked with solving the murder of Seo-ha's uncle. He and Captain Park work together closely on this mystery, but there is clearly some unresolved tension between them stemming from something that happened in the past.
Like his co-stars, Park Hee-soon has appeared in several Netflix Originals, such as Trolley, My Name, A Model Family, and Revenger, but he is probably best known for his work in Seven Days, The Scam, and 1987: When the Day Comes, all of which he receives various acting recognitions for.
Park Sung-hun as Yang Jae-seok
Actor Park Sung-hun likely looks very familiar to anyone who regularly watches K-Dramas on Netflix, as the talented star had a pivotal role in last year's excellent series The Glory, where he played Jeon Jae-joon. In The Bequeathed, he plays Seo-ha's husband, Yang Jae-seok. Park Sung-hun has also been cast in the upcoming second season of Squid Game and has appeared in other shows and movies like Six Flying Dragons, Don't Dare to Dream, and Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum.
All six episodes of The Bequeathed are now streaming on Netflix. Add the series to your watchlist.
