Ted Danson's A Man on the Inside comedy series coming to Netflix in November 2024

Previously known as A Classic Spy, Ted Danson's new Netflix original comedy series officially has a new title and a release month. On Aug. 23, the streamer announced the Cheers, Becker, and The Good Place comedy vet headlines the spy comedy A Man on the Inside, coming to Netflix in November.

From the hilarious Mike Schur, who brought us such classic comedies as Parks and Recreation, The Good Place, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Danson's latest foray into sitcom territory borrows its premise from the Academy Award nominated 2021 documentary The Mole Agent.

A Man on the Inside premieres on Netflix in November

In A Man on the Inside, Danson plays a retired man named Charles, who suddenly finds himself acting as a mole in a secret investigation after pursuing a private investigator's ad. Because he's not a seasoned spy, Charles will more than likely create some chaos throughout the investigation.

Along with the new title and fall release window, Netflix also unveiled a number of first-look photos that preview Danson's role as Charles and tease characters played by Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Stephanie Beatriz, Susan Ruttan, Lilah Richcreek Estrada, and Stephen McKinley Henderson.

While Netflix isn't revealing the official release date just yet, based on what the streamer has dated for November so far, including Cobra Kai season 6 part 2, The Madness, and Senna, we can attempt to predict when the series will drop.

A Man on the Inside could premiere on any Thursday in November, which leaves either Nov. 7, Nov. 14, Nov. 22, or Nov. 28, though a Thanksgiving release seems unlikely for the comedy. For now, we'd bet on the first weekend of November or the week before Thanksgiving.

A Man on the Inside reteams Ted Danson and Mike Schur after collaborating on the Emmy Award-nominated, fan-favorite NBC comedy The Good Place, which ran for four seasons. When the series ended, Danson went on to star in NBC's Mr. Mayor, which was co-created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock. For their second series together, they're sure to knock it out of the park.

The cast also includes Brooklyn Nine-Nine standout Stephanie Beatriz, who also reteams with Schur after working with him for eight seasons on the Fox/NBC cop comedy. Between all of the talent in front of and behind the camera, A Man on the Inside ranks as one of the most highly anticipated new Netflix shows coming this fall. We know we'll be watching. Will you?
