Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen on Netflix thanks to the Duffer Brothers

The amazingly talented creative brother duo Matt and Ross Duffer, also known as the Duffer Brothers, are currently hard at work filming the highly anticipated fifth and final season of Stranger Things. However, that doesn't mean they don't have their hands in many other projects. In fact, Netflix just announced a new project that the brothers are set to produce, and it's called Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen. More on this project below.

Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen is an upcoming Netflix original series created by Haley Z. Boston. She also serves as showrunner and executive producer on the series. Boston is best known for writing for the Netflix horror series Brand New Cherry Flavor, the horror anthology series Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities and the crime drama show Hunters.

The Duffer Brothers serve as executive producers along with Hilary Leavitt on behalf of their Upside Down Pictures, which has an overall deal with Netflix. Andrea Sperling, who also has an overall deal with Netflix, is signed on to executive produce as well.

Netflix describes Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen as a psychological horror drama series. The story takes place at a wedding and follows a bride and groom in the week leading up to their big day, where something very bad happens. Dun dun duuun! Unfortunately, that's all Netflix decided to share about the show's plot. Once the official synopsis is revealed or the streamer shares more of what the show is about, we'll let you know right away.

Besides filming Stranger Things season 5, the Duffer Brothers are gearing up to shoot their upcoming Netflix sci-fi series The Boroughs this fall. Several other Netflix projects are also in development, such as a live-action series adaptation of the Japanese manga and anime series Death Note and a Stranger Things animated series.
