5 shows like Agatha All Along to watch on Netflix
Are you ready to delve back into the world of witches and mayhem? Agatha All Along is the most highly anticipated series of the year, but sadly, it’s not on Netflix. This is a Disney+ series.
What about shows on Netflix that have the same vibe? The great news is there are plenty to watch, and here are five to get you started.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
Let’s start with a Netflix Original that we would have loved to see more of. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina brought us a darker telling of the story compared to the Melissa Joan Hart comedy of the ‘90s. It felt more like a witchy tale, which is needed considering the topics.
We meet Sabrina, a witch who doesn’t really want to give up her mortal life. However, she may be forced to if she wants to protect her town. On top of a show about magic, it’s a show about teenagers growing up and figuring out who they are.
The Order
How about a series that involves werewolves and witches? The Order is an intriguing story of a college student whose main goal is to get into his college’s secret society. He blames the secret society for the death of his mom, and he wants to uncover it and destroy it from within.
However, he ends up mixed in with a pack of werewolves at the same time. Now he needs to figure out who he is loyal to, especially as he starts to fall for one of the students in the secret society.
This show was sadly canceled after two seasons, but it is more than worth watching!
Supernatural
While not a Netflix Original, this is a must for Agatha All Along fans. Supernatural, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, arguably opened the door for far more shows within this genre. It proved that horror, comedy, and urban legends work well together.
Supernatural follows two brothers who fight the monsters and ghosts of the world. They take care of things that go bump in the night, and sometimes, that includes witches who want to put curses on people and gain power.
All 15 seasons of Supernatural are still on Netflix.
Hemlock Grove
One of Netflix’s first original horrors was Hemlock Grove, and it was based on the Brian McGreevy book of the same name. Eli Roth brought this story to life, putting the focus on the peculiar residents of a small town.
Everyone has secrets, and that’s certainly the case for the people of this former steel town. Some of those secrets are more sinister than others. Watch out for the monsters and killer creatures that go bump in the night. They may just show up.
While the series was canceled, the show did manage to craft an ending after three seasons.
A Discovery of Witches
Yes, A Discovery of Witches is now on Netflix, and you need to watch it. The story is based on the All Souls trilogy by Deborah Harkness, and it follows Diana Bishop, who is a witch descendant from Salem. Only she doesn’t want to be a witch. She has turned her back on her powers.
Of course, her powers haven’t turn their back on her. When she is the only person to find a particular book, the entire magical world goes after her. It will take a vampire to look after her from the other vampires, witches, and demons who want her to call that book once more. They all need it if they want to save their own species and end all the others.
All three seasons are currently on Netflix.
