To quote Carrie Bradshaw looking at a pair of shoes, "Hello, lover!" That's what many Sex and the City fans will be saying when they see the hit HBO original series on their Netflix watch list. All six seasons of the iconic series have landed on the streaming service for the first time ever in April 2024 thanks to the streamer's continued push to bring viewers the shows they want to watch.

The series needs no introduction, as its one of the most talked about shows of perhaps all time. Sarah Jessica Parker stars as New York City sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw, who philosophizes on the ups and downs of her relationships and those of her friends Charlotte York (Kristin Davis), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), and Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall).

For six seasons, two movies, and now a continuation series, fans have embarked on a journey of love and sex with four characters who feel like our best friends. Now with the convenience and reach of Netflix, we get to experience the strut down memory lane all over again. Let's look back at the cast's ages then and now and share a bit about what they have been up to since the show ended 20 years ago.

Sarah Jessica Parker was born on March 25, 1965, which makes the Carrie Bradshaw actress 59 years old as of April 2024. When she first took on her now-iconic role on Sex and the City upon its premiere on HBO in June 1998, Parker was 33 years old. Given Carrie's supposed to be about 32 at the start of the series, the actress and the character are basically the same age. When the series ended in February 2004 after six seasons, Parker was 38 years old, about to turn 39.

Of course, Parker has continued to play Carrie in both big-screen Sex and the City movies, released in 2008 and 2010, as well as Max's current revival series And Just Like That, which returns for its third season in 2025. Parker has won two Emmy Awards for Sex and the City, including Outstanding Comedy Series as an executive producer in 2001 and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 2004. She also won six Golden Globes and three Screen Actors Guild Awards for her work on the series.

Following the show's end in 2004, Parker went on to star in movies like The Family Stone, Failure to Launch, Smart People, Did You Heart About the Morgans?, I Don't Know How She Does It, New Year's Eve, Hocus Pocus 2, and more. She had a memorable guest starring role on Glee from 2012 to 2013 and returned to HBO in 2017 for the comedy series Divorce, which ran for three seasons. She's also returned to theatre and launched a successful fashion brand and fragrance line.

In May 1997, Sarah Jessica Parker and actor Ferris Bueller's Day Off actor Matthew Broderick got married. Together, the couple share three children: son James (born 2002) and twin daughters Marion and Tabitha (born 2009). Parker has an estimated net worth of $200 million.

Kristin Davis as Charlotte York

Kristin Davis was born on Feb. 23, 1965, making the Charlotte York actress 59 years old in March 2024 and about one month older than her costar Sarah Jessica Parker. When the series premiered in June 1998, Davis was 33 years old. The show came to an end after six seasons in February 2004, one day before her 39th birthday.

Like Parker, Davis has also returned for each iteration of SATC after its end. For her role in the original series, she landed an Emmy and Golden Globe nomination in 2004. After the original show ended, the actress starred in a number of television movies, guest starred in Will & Grace, and had a series regular role in the short-lived CBS comedy Bad Teacher. Davis also appeared in the movies The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D, The Shaggy Dog, Deck the Halls, Couples Retreat, Jack and Jill, and Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. She has also starred in the Netflix original movies Holiday in the Wild and Deadly Illusions.

In 2011, Davis became a mother when she adopted her daughter Gemma, and she grew her family in 2018 with the adoption of her son Wilson. Coincidentally, her daughter's middle name, Rose, was the name of her character's child in Sex and the City (though they choose to be called Rock in And Just Like That). Davis has an estimated net worth of $35 million.

Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes

Cynthia Nixon was born on April 9, 1966, which means the Miranda Hobbes actress turns 58 years old in April 2024. When the series premiered in June 1998, she had recently turned 32 years old, and when the series concluded in February 2004, she was 37 years old, about to turn 38. Nixon's about one year younger than both Parker and Davis.

Like Parker and Davis, Nixon has reprised her Sex and the City role in both movies and the Max revival series (though Miranda's And Just Like That storylines are the subject of critique). For her role in the show, she won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2004. (She won her second Emmy for her guest role in Law & Order: SVU in 2008.)

Post-SATC, Nixon returned to theatre, winning two Tony Awards, and also appeared in the movies Little Manhattan, Lymelife, Rampart, The Only Living Boy in New York, and more. She also appeared in shows such as ER, House, The Big C, 30 Rock, Alpha House, Hannibal, The Affair, Broad City, and Netflix's Ratched. Along with And Just Like That, Nixon also stars in the HBO drama series The Gilded Age.

Nixon and partner Danny Mozes were together from 1988 to 2003 and share two children together. In 2012, Nixon married Christine Marinoni after having been together since 2004. The couple have a son born in 2011. In 2018, Nixon ran for Governor of New York. She has an estimated net worth of about $25 million.

Kim Cattrall as Samantha Jones

Kim Cattrall was born on Aug. 21, 1956, making the British-born and Canadian-raised actress 67 years old as of April 2024. She's about 10 years older than Parker, Davis, and Nixon. When she first started playing the iconic Samantha Jones in June 1998, Cattrall was 41 years old, and when the series ended in February 2004, she was 47 years old.

While Cattrall reprised her role for both of the continuation movies, she did not return for Max's And Just Like That. She later made an on-screen cameo appearance in season 2, though she did not share the screen with any of her three costars. For her work in the original series, she landed five consecutive Emmy Award nominations and won a Golden Globe in 2003.

She continued to light up the screen with roles in titles like Ice Princess, Sensitive Skin, Tell Me a Story, Filthy Rich, How I Met Your Father, Queer as Folk, Glamorous, and About My Father. She also had a memorable role playing Britney Spears' mother in the 2002 drama film Crossroads. Cattrall has been married three times: Larry Davis (1977-1979), Andre J. Lyson (1982-1989), and Mark Levinson (1998-2004). She has an estimated net worth of $40 million.

All six seasons of Sex and the City are currently available to watch on Netflix.
