Netflix is gearing up for its big comedy showcase known as the "Netflix Is a Joke" Festival. This year's celebration will take place from May 1 to May 12 and is the second annual outing for the festival, first held in 2022.
Featuring more than 500 live events at 34 different Los Angeles venues, attendees will get to see new stand-up specials from comedians like Kevin Hart, Bill Burr, Ali Wong, Trevor Noah, and Gabriel Iglesias. Additional shows and events will be hosted at several renowned LA theaters like Laugh Factory, Greek Theatre, Hollywood Palladium, Kia Forum, and more.
Variety reports that among the latest announcements for the festival is the news that actor and comedian Seth Rogen will be hosting "Seth Rogen Smokes the Bowl" at the Hollywood Bowl on May 7!
The actor took to Instagram to announce his shindig and promises attendees that they can smoke weed inside. "They won't kick you out."
Rogen has invited several special guests, including Lil Dicky, Janelle James, Ramy Youssef, Ronny Chieng, and Snoop Dogg, who will perform musically at the event. Rogen promises that there will be more surprise guests included in the line-up and a spectacular fireworks show.

"Seth Rogen Smokes the Bowl" will support the actor and his wife Lauren Rogen's Hilarity for Charity, a national nonprofit that supports families impacted by Alzheimer's disease. The couple founded the charity in 2012 shortly after Lauren's mother was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's at just 55 years old.
Rogen previously hosted Seth Rogen's Hilarity for Charity stand-up special on Netflix to raise awareness to the disease. You can still stream his Netflix special, which featured guest appearances from comedians like Ike Barinholtz, Michael Che, Jeff Goldblum, Tiffany Haddish, John Mulaney, Chelsea Peretti, Craig Robinson, and more.
Apart from Rogen's event, Netflix Is a Joke will also feature "Wanda Sykes: Please and Thank You Tour" at the Dolby Theater on May 2 and "Big Mouth Live at the Greek" featuring Nick Kroll, Maya Rudolph, and more Big Mouth cast members at the Greek Theater on May 2, plus many more events!
Additionally, comedian Matt Rife just signed a new deal with Netflix to film at least two new stand-up specials for the streaming service, one of which will be held at this year's Netflix Is a Joke festival. He'll perform as a headliner at the Hollywood Bowl on May 8, marking his first appearance at the event. His Netflix deal also entails a new workplace comedy in which the comedian will write and star.
And that's just the tip of the iceberg! Visit the official Netflix Is a Joke website to check out the complete schedule of events and purchase tickets.
