Power Rangers live-action series parts ways with Netflix
A live-action Power Rangers series, which has been in development at Netflix for more than two years, has been canceled.
According to TVLine, the live-action series had Jenny Klein -- known for her work on The Witcher, Daisy Jones & The Six, and Supernatural -- attached as showrunner. She was working closely with Power Rangers "overlord" Jonathan Entwistle to bring this new rendition to life. Unfortunately, things have not gone according to plan!
Entwistle was set to oversee the new Power Rangers TV and film projects as part of a planned "multiverse" announced in 2020.
While the reasons behind its Netflix cancellation remain unclear, Power Rangers owner Hasbro Entertainment isn't giving up on the project. They are exploring a new creative direction for the series with a different partner.
It's uncertain whether the original creative team, including Klein and Entwistle, will remain attached as the project moves forward.
This cancellation comes after Netflix had previously released Power Rangers content, including the 30th anniversary special Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always in 2023.
While the cancellation at Netflix is a setback, efforts to reboot or continue the Power Rangers franchise in some form are still ongoing, with Hasbro actively seeking new avenues for development.
If you were looking forward to its release, you're not alone! But while it's disappointing that our Netflix screens won't be graced with the new live-action series of Power Rangers, we've got you covered with some recommendations that are just as action-packed and fun.

Are any Power Ranger series streaming on Netflix?
While the new live-action Power Rangers series won’t be coming to the streaming giant, there are plenty of other series in the franchise currently available on Netflix. Check out these action-packed adventures:
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (1993-1995): The original series that started it all! Five teenagers with attitude are chosen by the ancient wizard Zordon to become the Power Rangers, defending Earth from Rita Repulsa and her evil forces. They use dinosaur-themed powers and giant robots called Zords to battle monsters.
Power Rangers Beast Morphers (2019-2020): Set in the future, a secret agency combines animal DNA with technology to create the Beast Morphers Rangers. They protect the Morphin Grid, a dimension that channels the Rangers' powers, from an evil computer virus.
Power Rangers Dino Fury (2021-2022): Ancient warrior Zayto and a new team of Rangers harness the power of dinosaur-themed Morphers to protect Earth from alien threats. They search for Sporix Beasts while battling the villainous Void Knight.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always (2023): A 30th anniversary special reuniting original cast members. The Rangers face a familiar threat from the past and must once again become the heroes the world needs.
Power Rangers Cosmic Fury (2023): A continuation of Dino Fury, this series follows the Rangers as they take their fight against evil to space, facing new cosmic threats and challenges.
So, while the new live-action series is on hold, there’s no shortage of Power Rangers action to enjoy on Netflix.
