Have you checked out Netflix's top 10 movie list recently? While there aren't that many Netflix originals on the list, there are some good licensed films. One of those licensed movies is Horrible Bosses 2, which is currently ranked at the No. 3 spot.

Netflix has been acquiring streaming rights to a lot of films, and when we found out about its acquisition of Horrible Bosses 2, we were over the moon about this news. It was finally released on the streaming platform on Feb. 10, 2024 and it didn't take long for it to rise up the top 10 list.

But this didn't really come as a surprise because Horrible Bosses 2 was a smash hit when it initially hit theaters back in November 2014. The movie made $107.7 million dollars worldwide against a budget of $42 million. While this film did make significantly less than the first movie ($209.6 million) and garnered mixed reviews, it still did well at the box office.

It's a crime comedy movie that was helmed by Sean Anders from a screenplay he co-wrote with John Morris. It's also the sequel to the 2011 hit comedy flick Horrible Bosses. Due to the major financial success of the first film, a sequel was announced in 2012.

The first movie follows three friends (Nick, Dale, and Kurt) who devise a plan to murder their abusive and oppressive bosses. In Horrible Bosses 2, Nick, Dale, and Kurt are fed up with working for the man so they decide to go into business for themselves by creating a new invention called the "Shower Buddy." But things don't go as planned when an investor betrays them by stealing their idea. Now heavily in debt and desperate, the trio comes up with a plan to kidnap the investor's adult son to get back at him.

Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, and Charlie Day return in their respective roles from the first film as Nick, Kurt, and Dale in the sequel. Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Aniston also came back for Horrible Bosses 2, reprising their roles as Dean "Motherfucker" Jones and Dr. Julia Harris. Chris Pine,
Christoph Waltz, Kevin Spacey, Jonathan Banks, Lindsay Sloane, Keegan-Michael Key, and many others are also in the cast.
