Netflix is adding 20 new movies and shows this week (June 2, 2024)

June (and Pride Month!) is officially here, and with this first official week of June comes a bunch of new movies and shows. The new additions include a new action-packed movie, a new season of a Netflix Original, and a very popular rom-com.

First up is Hit Man! The new action film hits Netflix on Friday, June 7, 2024, and stars Glen Powell, Adria Arjona, Retta, Austin Amello, and Molly Bernard. The movie follows a professor who moonlights as an undercover hit man for the police department. He pretends to be a hit man and arrests people looking to "off" someone. But things turn on their head when he starts falling for one of the people who comes looking for his services.

Sweet Tooth season 3 is also headed to Netflix this week! You can check out the new season of the fantasy series on Thursday, June 6. This season, you can expect to see Gus and his friends going on one final journey to cure The Sick and find Gus's mom, Birdie. What they end up discovering is the truth about the origins of all the hybrids. This will be the final season of the show.

In the mood for a rom-com? Crazy Rich Asians will start streaming on Netflix this week! You can start watching it on Thursday, June 6. The 2018 movie is based on the bestselling book of the same name by Kevin Kwan and won multiple Critics Choice Awards, including for Constance Wu for Best Actress in a Comedy.

The cast included Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Michelle Yeoh, Gemma Chan, Lisa Lu, Awkwafina, Harry Shrum Jr., Ken Jeong, and Jimmy O. Yang. The film follows New Yorker Rachel who goes to meet her boyfriend's parents in Singapore. Things don't go as well as she planned. His family is less-than-accepting, but will their love conquer all? You'll have to watch and see (if you haven't already).
