Netflix is adding 39 new movies and shows this week (July 28, 2024)
July is coming to an end and August is here, and with that comes a bunch of new movies and shows to Netflix. There is a ton of new stuff coming this week, including a new season of a true crime show, a new book adaptation, a network show making its way to Netflix, a Spongebob movie, and of course, the latest Zach Snyder nonsense.
First up is Unsolved Mysteries Volume 4! The new batch is hitting Netflix on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. The show covers everything from missing people to unsolved murders to alien abductions. But they all have one thing in common: they all are unsolved. This season the mysteries will include Jack the Ripper, a body in the basement, a severed head, Mothman, and a murder in a locked theater.

Next up is A Good Girl's Guide to Murder! The new series is based on the book of the same name by Holly Jackson and is headed to Netflix on Thursday, Aug. 1. The series follows Pip Fitz-Amobi who is determined to find out how a young girl died. Was it the girl's boyfriend Sal? And what will people do to stop Pip from finding out the truth? You'll have to watch and see. If you're already a fan of the book, this is a must-watch!
The show stars Emma Myers, Asha Banks, Raiko Gohara, Zain Iqbal, Jude Morgan-Collie, Yali Topol Margalith, and Yasmin Al-Khudhairi.

If you haven't been watching Fire Country, you are missing out on one of the best soapy shows on network TV. Also...there is fire! The show airs on CBS, but the first season is coming to Netflix on Thursday, Aug. 1. The series follows Bode Donovan, who is in prison but is put on a firefighting team with other inmates. Unfortunately, he ends up fighting fires in his hometown. Somewhere he never wanted to return to. It also doesn't help that BOTH his parents are firefighters and everyone knows him in town. Drama, romance, and danger ensue.
The show stars Max Theriot (who is also one of the creators), Kevin Alejandro, Jordan Calloway, Stephanie Arcila, Billy Burke, Diane Farr, and Jules Latimer.
