Where all my One Piece stans? Netflix has just announced some good news that I'm sure the fandom will be excited about. The streaming giant has announced that it will be remaking the original manga into another anime series, starting from the East Blue saga which consists of 100 chapters. This news was revealed during the second day of Jump Festa 2024 in Tokyo, Japan.

Officially called The One Piece, this will be the second anime adaptation with the first one originally premiering on the Japanese TV network Fuji TV in October 1999. The first anime series was produced by Toei Animation and is still ongoing. Both anime adaptations are based on Eiichiro Oda's Japanese manga series of the same name.

This good news comes three months after Netflix announced the One Piece live-action series season 2 renewal. The scripts for the second season are currently being worked on, so there isn't a release date yet. We'll be sure to let you know once there is one.

But when it comes to this new Netflix anime adaptation, production has officially started on the episodes with WIT Studio, whose known for producing the hit anime SPY x FAMILY and Attack on Titan (seasons 1-3), signed on to be the animation studio.

You're probably wondering how this new anime will be different from the first one. Well, this is all the production team had to say about The One Piece being different from the first anime adaptation.

"With THE ONE PIECE, the committee aims to provide viewers with a fresh yet familiar experience, utilizing cutting-edge visual technology to reimagine Luffy’s adventures through the beloved East Blue saga."
