Mulligan part 2 confirmed for May 2024 release date on Netflix

Mulligan is back! Although if you have forgotten about the Netflix original adult animated comedy series, no one would hold it against you. The streaming service hasn't exactly been screaming news about the show from the rooftops, but the underrated darling will in fact be back with a second part featuring 10 all-new episodes in May 2024.

On April 24, Netflix announced that Mulligan part 2 will be released on Friday, May 24. The first part, which also contained 10 episodes, dropped in May 2023, and at the time, we weren't sure whether the animated comedy would be back back for another season. Given part 1's "to be continued" tag, we predicted a second season was on the way or, at the very least, a second part for a 20-episode order like the streamer had done in the past could happen.

Thankfully for fans, the Tina Fey and Robert Carlock-executive produced series will be back for part 2. Mulligan also counts The Bear star Ayo Edebiri as a producer, and she also wrote an episode of part 1. Fingers crossed her impeccable sense of humor will return for more episodes in the second part of the post-apocalyptic comedy. Below we're sharing everything to know about part 2!

Mulligan part 2 synopsis and cast

In case you haven't yet checked out the show, Mulligan takes place in the aftermath of an alien attack on Earth, where the survivors must work together to restart society all over again from scratch. Naturally, it's not an easy task, but working-class hero Matty Mulligan (voiced by Nat Faxon) becomes the new leader of the human race, whether he's prepared for the challenge or not.

The second part of the series has plenty more chaos and hilarity in store as Mulligan and his fellow survivors continue to discover the toughest parts of coming together to re-lay the groundwork for the world they once knew. Here's the part 2 synopsis via Netflix:

"Allegiances are tested when the grim realities of life on an empty, alien-ravaged planet start to sink in for President Mulligan and his rag-tag band of survivors. (No plumbing! No food! Movies are just plays now!) In order to rebuild society, they'll have to overcome feral cub scouts, a cruise ship with a deadly secret, and each other."

All of the animated comedy's main cast members are expected to reprise their voice roles in part 2, which includes the previously mentioned Nat Faxon as the title character. The cast also boasts the voices of Chrissy Teigen, executive producer Tina Fey, and more. These are the show's main characters and cast members:

Beyond the crew or recognizable voice making up the main cast, Mulligan also has quite the incredible recurring cast. Edebiri lends her voice to a memorable character, as does Daniel Radcliffe. The recurring cast members, who are listed below, will likely be heard from again in part 2. The first part also featured guest appearances from the likes of Weird Al, Questlove, Andy Samberg, Ted Danson, Will Arnett, Rachel Dratch, and more. Who knows who we'll hear in season 2!
