8 most annoying Ginny & Georgia characters, ranked

When you think about some of the best teen shows on Netflix, Ginny & Georgia should definitely be one of them. We're already two seasons down and have at least two more confirmed to be on the way. We've been patiently waiting for Ginny & Georgia season 3, but it looks like it's going to be a while before it makes its way to Netflix. Our best release prediction for now is late 2024 at the earliest, but there's a possibility we might not see the new season until early next year. Fingers crossed, we get to see the third season sooner rather than later.

With all this free time we have waiting for Ginny & Georgia season 3, we've been trying to keep ourselves busy. We've even went back and re-watched seasons 1 and 2, and you know what we noticed? How many annoying characters there are in this show. I mean, seriously!

For kicks and giggles, we decided to go ahead and rank these characters from least to most annoying. If you're curious about which characters made our list and their ranking, all you need to do is continue reading to find out.

8. Hunter

Look, Ginny might've been a terrible girlfriend to Hunter, but Hunter was only a slightly better boyfriend. Everything he did in his relationship with Ginny just seemed performative to me. Let's not forget how he handled his best friend Press saying all those mean things to Ginny. He would basically brush off the inappropriate comments by telling him "not cool." How is that considered sticking up for her? However, I decided to rank him on my list as the least annoying Ginny & Georgia character out of all the annoying characters because he becomes less annoying in season 2. Maybe it's because he has less screen time in the second season.

7. Gabriel Cordova

I know Private Investigator Gabriel Cordova's job is to take down Georgia for her past crimes, but how he does so is so wrong and unprofessional. He literally shows up to Ginny's job multiple times to question her about her mother, and she's only a minor. How is that even legal? He even gets into a relationship with Georgia's co-worker in hopes of getting dirt on her. Overall, he constantly bends the law so that things work in his favor, but that's not right. However, even though the way Cordova does his job is wrong, he's still not as annoying as some of the other characters.

6. Cynthia

Cynthia was extremely annoying in season 1. She was always out to get Georgia in the first season, but in season 2, we eventually start to see a change in her after finding out why she's so mean and scornful. Her husband was in a coma, and since she didn't know how to deal with her emotions, she took it out on Georgia. Still, this is not a good enough reason to treat others horribly the way that she did.

5. Abby

Abby is the cruelest. Remember how awful she was to Ginny in season 1? She pressured her to steal clothes and then put all the blame on her. Also, she would constantly make rude comments about Ginny. We find out later that the reason for Abby acting this way is because she's having a hard time with her parents' divorce and that she's struggling with an eating disorder. Of course, it's sad that Abby is going through these things, but that doesn't mean she gets a free pass to treat and talk to people in any kind of way.

4. Press

Press is easily one of the worst Ginny & Georgia characters, and he really serves no purpose. Whenever he's on screen, all he does is make insensitive comments towards women. He's also verbally abusive to Abby. He literally calls her "whale legs" but continues to hook up with her knowing that what he said is wrong. I wouldn't mind not seeing him return in season 3.

3. Gil

Gil was introduced in season 2, and I was annoyed with him right away. Honestly, he wasn't meant to be a likable character, though. He was physically abusive to Georgia when they were younger, and we find out later that he hadn't changed as an adult. Two examples are when he forcibly grabs Georgia at Austin's school in episode 8, and when he throws her around the kitchen in episode 9. He even tried to blackmail her. While he might seem sweet to Austin, I wouldn't be surprised if he were to try to hurt him somewhere down the line. Gil just doesn't seem like a good person at all.

2. Ginny

I can't be the only person who thinks Ginny is annoying at times, especially in the first season. First, she cheats on her boyfriend when she could've broken up with him a long time ago. She knew she had stronger feelings for Marcus, but still chose to lead Hunter on. Secondly, she whines too much and always seems to put on this "woe is me" act. Yes, it can be annoying to have to move from place to place and find out that your mom has been lying to you, but I think Ginny could've been a little more appreciative of her mom for doing everything she could so that she could have a comfortable life.

I understand being shocked after finding out that your mom is a murderer, but all the anger Ginny directed towards Georgia at the beginning of season 2 wasn't necessary. She could've been using that energy to talk to her instead. They do eventually talk and get back on good terms, but Ginny goes on and continues to do things throughout season 2 that rub me the wrong way. Let's hope Ginny is less annoying in season 3.

1. Samantha

Samantha doesn't even get that much screen time and is still the most annoying character in my book. Initially, I thought she was going to be a likable character because when she was first introduced, it seemed like she was an outcast. But my opinion of her quickly changed when the first words she says to Ginny in the second episode of season 1 are, "Ginny, what are you? You're so like exotic looking."

Then, later in the episode, she asks Ginny which of her parents is white before stating that she's going to marry a black man in the future so that she can have "adorable little mixed babies." Seriously, who says things like that? Samantha has no decorum at all, and her insensitive comments just get worse as the show goes on.
