Madame Web soundtrack: All of the throwback songs in the movie

The day has finally arrived for Madame Web to possibly find its second life on Netflix. On May 14, the critically panned box office disappointment (that's just factual, nothing personal!) landed on the streaming service and made its official streaming debut. Sure, when the superhero flick premiered in February, it was the joke online. But it's sure to hit the top 10 with a bang.

In the movie, Dakota Johnson plays a paramedic named Cassandra Web, who soon discovers that after a near-death accident on the job, she see the future. While exploring this new power, Cassie must untangle the web of her past (pun intended) while also taking it upon herself to help protect and save three young women destined to become Spider-Women from an evil villain.

Since Madame Web takes place in 2003, the movie features fitting references to over 20 years in the past, including the music that makes up its soundtrack. Throughout the movie, past hits from the early 2000s and even before provide a sense of place for the aughts period piece. Below we're sharing the songs heard in the movie that you'll definitely want to add to your playlist!

Madame Web's soundtrack will take you back

The first song heard in the scenes set in 2003 is "Miles Away" by Yeah Yeah Yeahs, which was featured on the band's eponymous debut EP released in 2001. As a rock song, it sets the tone for Cassie's fast-paced job as a paramedic. But the movie also features a number of other pop throwbacks that will take you way further back, including '90s hit "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and '80s teen pop smash "I Think We're Alone Now."

The album runs contains 32 songs and runs for less than an hour. Some of the tracks are pretty chilling, so you might not want to put them on while you're studying or cleaning the house.
