Knives Out 3 probably just cast its killer (and he's an MCU star)

There's been a flurry of casting news for Knives Out 3. Another star of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the latest to join the cast, and for those keeping track at home, he's probably going to be the killer.

According to a report from Deadline, Jeremy Renner has officially joined the cast of Netflix's latest from Rian Johnson's Knives Out film series following Knives Out and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. The third movie is titled Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.

Renner joins the ever-growing cast of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. The rest of the cast includes Daniel Craig (obviously!), Josh O'Connor, Kerry Washington, Cailee Spaeny, Andrew Scott, and Glenn Close. We're expecting more to be added to the cast soon, probably tomorrow based on the rate these cast announcements are rolling out.

Even with such a small group of the cast announced and knowing absolutely nothing about this story, we have a good idea of who the killer is going to be. We're looking at you, Renner.

Why Jeremy Renner is likely the killer in Knives Out 3

So, how do we know Renner is going to be the killer in Knives Out 3? Just look at the history of the Knives Out film series.

In the first movie, Benoit Blanc (Craig) was called in to investigate the mysterious death of Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer). Along with a colossal misunderstanding, Blanc found that Ransom (Chris Evans), Harlan's grandson, was responsible for his murder.

In Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Blanc is summoned to the island home of tech billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton) to investigate. Blanc finds out that Miles stole the ideas of Andi Brand (Janelle Monáe) to launch his company. He also murdered Andi and Duke (Dave Bautista) during their stay at Miles' home.

What do Chris Evans and Edward Norton have in common? What is one connection they share? Well, they've both played Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Evans starred as Steve Rogers/Captain America in seven MCU movies while appearing in others. Norton, on the other hand, starred as Bruce Banner/Hulk in 2003's The Incredible Hulk. He was later replaced by Mark Ruffalo.

Who is the one Avenger just added to the cast of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery? None other than Jeremy Renner also known as Clint Barton also known as Hawkeye.

Renner starred in five MCU movies so far along with his own Disney+ series. Is he the real killer in Knives Out 3? Only time will tell. But, I see what you're doing, Rian, and I like it.
