If you're a big fan of action movies and Jessica Alba, Netflix has the perfect new movie for you this week. Trigger Warning is the newest Netflix original movie, and it looks like it has all the makings of a big hit for the streamer.

Directed by Mouly Surya, Trigger Warning stars Alba as Parker, who is ex-Special Forces. After returning to her hometown after the death of her father, Parker goes toe-to-toe with a criminal organization in the small town. As you'll see in the trailer, Parker suspects that her father's death was something bigger.

You'll also recognize a few familiar faces from the cast, including Peter Sutherland himself, Gabriel Basso, who starred in The Night Agent, one of Netflix's most popular action series of all time. Anthony Michael Hall, Tone Bell, Mark Webber, and Jake Weary round out the rest of the cast.

Sounds enticing, yeah? I think so, and that's why I'll be tuning in as soon as Trigger Warning hits Netflix. Luckily, we don't have too long to wait!

As with the many Netflix original movies and shows, you'll be staying up late to watch Trigger Warning as soon as it's available on Netflix if you so choose. Trigger Warning premieres at 3:00 a.m. ET /12:00 a.m. PT on Thursday, June 20.

I know the masses won't be staying up that late to watch Alba's new movie, but I do expect Trigger Warning to be one of the most popular Netflix movies of the summer. That's why it's getting the late June drop right before the holiday weekend!

Trailer

Netflix shared the trailer for Trigger Warning in May 2024 about a month before the film's premiere. It's as good of a trailer for a new Netflix movie as we've seen in a long time.

"This is about more than just my dad," Parker says in the trailer. "I need to know the truth."

Honestly, so do we! In the trailer, Parker returns home after her father's death, but she suspects something else happened. The police, a state senator, and others urge her to mind her own business, but after beating up some lowly criminals, Parker clearly has other plans. She's willing to use any means necessary to accomplish her mission.

Will it be enough to knock Hit Man out of the No. 1 spot on the Netflix Top 10 for the month of June? Probably not, but I think it's going to be close. People love action movies, especially Netflix subscribers, and Jessica Alba. It's a win-win for Netflix!
