April has been a great month for Netflix with the release of tons of new shows and movies like Baby Reindeer, Ripley, The Tearsmith, Parasyte: The Grey, Scoop etc. However, we've also seen the departure of some content that Netflix licensed.

So far, licensed movies like Day of the Dead: Bloodline, Marshall, The Nice Guys, Horrible Bosses 2, Deliver Us from Evil, Rush, Synchronic and The Zookeeper's Wife have departed the streaming platform this month, and sadly, there's still much more left to make their exit by the end of April.

We've looked over what's left to depart and noticed that three beloved romantic comedies are set to leave Netflix soon. These are rom-coms that people still talk about to this day. You might've watched them already, but there's nothing wrong with a little rewatch session, right?

Here are three rom-coms we strongly recommend you watch or rewatch before they leave Netflix this April!

13 Going on 30

  • Departure date: May 1, 2024
  • Last day to watch on Netflix: April 30, 2024

There have been so many great romantic comedies to come out over the years, but 13 Going on 30 still remains in my top 5. It's a light-hearted film with just the right amount of romance and comedy. The strong chemistry between the two main leads, Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo, made the movie even more believable and enjoyable to watch. Honestly, it's a movie I find myself watching at least once a year. Yes, it's that good.

The story follows an unpopular teen girl named Jenna Rink, who after being made fun of at her 13th birthday party, makes a wish to grow up and be a well-adjusted adult. Suddenly, her wish comes true overnight, and she wakes up with everything she ever wanted. She's a fashion magazine editor and "thirty, flirty, and thriving."

Garner stars in the leading role of an adult Jenna Rink, while Christa B. Allen plays her younger version. In addition, Ruffalo plays the role of adult Matty, Jenna's friend. Also joinng them in the cast are Judy Greer, Andy Serkis, Lynn Collins, Ashley Benson, Brittany Curran, Brie Larson, and others.

27 Dresses

  • Departure date: May 1, 2024
  • Last day to watch on Netflix: April 30, 2024

27 Dresses is still one of Katherine Heigl's best movies to date, in my opinion. And like 13 Going on 30, this is a rom-com I go back and rewatch faithfully. Heigl gave an amazing performance as Izzie Stevens in Grey's Anatomy, but it's something about her performance in romantic comedies. She hits the mark every time and never disappoints.

The movie follows Jane Nichols, a young woman who has been a bridesmaid 27 times. She's used to putting other people's needs before her own, and it doesn't usually bother her. That's until she finds out that her younger sister is getting married to the man she secretly loves. Now, she's ready to put herself out there and finally have her own happily ever after. But could it be with the handsome wedding journalist with whom she didn't get off on the right foot?

Heigl stars as wedding planner, Jane Nichols, while James Marsden portrays the role of Kevin "Malcolm" Doyle, a wedding reporter with ulterior motives.

Silver Linings Playbook

  • Departure date: May 1, 2024
  • Last day to watch on Netflix: April 30, 2024

Silver Linings Playbook is a critically acclaimed movie based on the 2008 book The Silver Linings Playbook by author Matthew Quick. It was nominated for eight Academy Awards, with Jennifer Lawrence winning the Oscar for Best Actress. It was also nominated for four Golden Globe Awards, with Lawrence taking home the award for Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical.

Set in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, the movie follows Patrizio "Pat" Solitano Jr., a former teacher who after spending eight months in a mental hospital, winds up moving back in with his parents. Now that he's free, he's ready for a fresh new start and wants to win back his ex-wife, who has a restraining order against him. One day, he meets Tiffany, a young woman with problems of her own, and the two begin to grow closer. And what starts as a friendship eventually turns into something more.

Bradley Cooper portrays the role of Patrizio "Pat" Solitano Jr., while Lawrence plays Tiffany. Robert De Niro, Jacki Weaver, Anupam Kher, Chris Tucker, and others star in this movie as well.

Will you be watching any of these romantic comedies before they leave Netflix this month?
