Is Cocaine Cowboys available on Netflix? Where to watch the doc and its sequel

Can't get enough of the story of the Cocaine Godmother after finishing Netflix's limited series Griselda starring Sofia Vergara? While there aren't many good scripted versions of the tale, there are several documentaries and books out there about Griselda Blanco, and one of the most popular is the 2006 documentary Cocaine Cowboys from director Billy Corben. Griselda's story became significantly more well-known after people learned about her in the documentary film.

Even though Griselda is a Netflix series, there is surprisingly little about her on Netflix outside of the show. The 2006 doc isn't streaming on Netflix, but the documentary spinoff series Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami is available to watch. Corben returns to direct the docuseries, which chronicles the decade-spanning crime journey of Willy Falcon and Sal Magluta.

Apart from the Cocaine Cowboys films, there was also a made-for-TV Lifetime movie called Cocaine Godmother starring Catherina Zeta Jones as Griselda. The film was mostly panned by critics, but you can stream it on Hulu if you're interested in it.

Griselda is also featured as a character in the Colombian telenovela Pablo Escobar, The Drug Lord and the Spanish telenovela La viuda negra is inspired by the female drug lord's story, with actress Ana Serradilla portraying Griselda.
