For those who have checked out the movie or are considering it, you might have some questions about how Good Grief ends, or maybe you're halfway through and just want to know what's going to happen! We can help you fill in the blanks. Below we'll detail where the three main characters end up and how Good Grief ultimately comes to an end.
Does Marc end up with Theo?
Things are left somewhat ambiguous in regards to Marc and Theo's (the guy he meets in France) relationship. But Marc is in a much better place by the end of the movie. He has decided to sell his London home that he shared with Oliver and has gotten back to painting. The movie ends with Marc creating a new showcase of his latest paintings, several of which are dedicated to his best friends.
Overall, Good Grief's final sequences are about showing how Marc is moving forward and focusing on his passions and friendships amid the complicated grieving process for his late husband, who he later discovers was having an affair.
Where do Sophie and Thomas end up?
Good Grief ends on a happy note for both Sophie and Thomas. Thomas moves on into a new relationship and introduces viewers to his boyfriend in the film's final scene while Sophie brings Terrance to Marc's gallery to see his paintings. They seem to have fixed things and gotten back together, with Sophie preparing to take the next step in their relationship, looking toward marriage and finally moving in together.
There was a slight twist toward the end of the movie where we learned Terrance actually left Sophie rather than the other way around, as she had initially revealed to her friends. But by the end, the couple seem to have made up and fixed things.
