All right, I'll give it to Netflix. The streamer has been releasing some great teen shows and movies. Just this month, we've seen the return of the popular Australian teen series Heartbreak High and the release of the teen romantic drama film The Tearsmith. But while I did enjoy watching both, I'm still not quite satisfied. Why? Well, the teen show I really want to see hasn't returned with its new season yet. Of course, I'm talking about Ginny & Georgia season 3. Where is the brand-new season? Shouldn't it be out already?
Unfortunately, we won't be seeing Ginny & Georgia season 3 until 2025. We could've possibly seen it sometime this year, but due to a major delay in production because of the writers’ and actors’ strike, the release was pushed back to next year. The good news is that production on the third season is rumored to start in late April 2024, so the cast and crew should be gearing up to film.
But what do we do in the meantime while we wait for the new season to come out? Well, the Ginny & Georgia cast has other projects besides the teen series that they've been working on. Some of these projects have even come out already. We could always check those out. That way, the wait won't feel as long.
Below, we shared a list of some of the Ginny & Georgia cast's latest projects.
Antonia Gentry
Antonia stars as one of the show's titular characters, Ginny Miller. This year, she has a sci-fi slasher film called Time Cut coming out. It will be released on Netflix. It follows a teen girl who, after accidentally finding a time machine, travels back to 2003 to stop a killer from murdering her sister. Besides Antonia, Outer Banks star Madison Bailey, Michael Shanks, Griffin Gluck, Rachael Crawford, Jordan Pettle, Megan Best, Samuel Braun, Sydney Sabiston, and Kataem O'Commor star in the film.
Another project of Antonia's slated to be coming out soon is the comedy film Prom Dates. It will be released on Hulu on Friday, May 3, 2024. The movie follows two best friends, Jess and Hannah, who made a pact at 13 years old to have the perfect senior prom. But everything goes terribly wrong when they break up with each of their dates. Now they only have 24 hours before the big event to find new dates and honor their prom pact. Antonia stars as one of the best friends, Jess, while Julia Lester plays the other best friend, Hannah. Chelsea Handler, John Michael Higgins, Kenny Ridwan, JT Neal, Jordan Buhat, Zión Moreno, and Terry Hu, also star.
The last known project of hers is the upcoming romance film The Upside of Falling Down, which is scheduled for a mid-2024 release. Also starring in the movie is Bridgerton's Calam Lynch.
Here's the official synopsis via Variety:
"Clementine (Gentry) has lost her memory in an accident and runs away from the hospital with the help of a stranger, Kieran (Lynch) to discover who she is now, before she can reconnect with who she used to be. As she allows herself to free dive into new beginnings, new joys, new loves, and finds the courage to grow into a new version of herself, she begins to fall for this super-cute, charismatic, warm and enigmatic stranger.
As Clem puts together the puzzle of her past to find the truth of who she really is, she pieces together returning memories of her past life. Clem and Kieran fall deeply in love, and Clem finds she isn’t the only one with secrets… and when the truth is told, lives are turned upside down…"
Some of her old content includes a role in the Netflix superhero series Raising Dion and a role in the Netflix rom-com Candy Jar.
Brianne Howey
Brianne plays the role of Georgia Miller in Ginny & Georgia. She doesn't have any new projects out at the moment, but you can still check out some of her old content. You can watch her in the TV shows Twisted (Hulu), The Exorcist (Hulu), The Passage (available to buy on Amazon Video), Batwoman (Max) and Dollface (available to buy on Amazon Video). She also played the role of Jess Ramsey in the romantic comedy film Plus One, which is currently streaming on Netflix.
When it comes to upcoming projects, she'll be in a Netflix comedy film titled Kinda Pregnant. The movie centers around a woman who becomes jealous of her best friend’s pregnancy so she starts wearing a fake baby bump. Then, she eventually meets the man of her dreams. Another upcoming project is the Christmas comedy film Dear Santa, which is about a young boy who accidentally sends his yearly note that he writes to Santa to Satan instead.
