What happens when three very different families discover they all want the same house? That's the premise of the upcoming Netflix dark comedy series No Good Deed from Dead to Me creator Liz Feldman releasing on Netflix on Dec. 12, 2024.

When a beautiful, 1920s Spanish-style villa goes on sale in Los Feliz, several different families find themselves competing to purchase the home. But even as the characters believe they've found their dream house, it soon becomes apparent that everyone is hiding something and this competition has a way of bringing those secrets to the forefront.

Will Ferrell and Jessica Elbaum executive produce the series for Gloria Sanchez Productions along with Christie Smith and Silver Tree. Tree also directed the pilot and additional episodes of the series. Filming for the eight-episode comedy reportedly got underway in October 2023 in Scotland.

No Good Deed cast

The Netflix comedy series features a star-studded cast that includes Linda Cardellini, Lisa Kudrow, Ray Romano, and more. No Good Deed will mark creator Liz Feldman and Cardellini's second significant collaboration together as Cardellini previously starred in Feldman's Emmy-nominated show Dead to Me, which also streams on Netflix.

Emmy Award-winning actress Lisa Kudrow will play a talented former concert pianist named Lydia Morgan. Lydia is the devoted wife of Paul (Ray Romano). They have two children together and Lydia is growing increasingly concerned by the prospect of selling their Los Feliz home, a place with cherished memories and dark secrets.

On Dec. 15, Netflix announced additional cast members for the show, including Cardellini, Luke Wilson, Teyonah Parris, Abbi Jacobson, and Poppy Liu.

Cardellini has been cast as Margo Starling, a status seeker with plenty of secrets to spare, while Wilson plays depressed and out-of-work actor JD Campbell, who is seeking his next job and simultaneously seeking a new home to downsize from his lavish mansion. Parris is an expectant mother and architect who falls in love with the Morgan house, but the financial stress reveals cracks in her marriage to husband Dennis.

Other characters include Jacobson's Leslie Fisher, one half of a gay couple married to Liu's Sarah. The pair are delighted with the Los Feliz home, but they have secrets of their own.
