Meet the voice cast of Netflix's Carol & The End of the World
By Mads Lennon
What would you do if you found out you only had a little over seven months left to live? That's the reality the characters of Netflix's new adult animated miniseries Carol & The End of the World are facing as they learn a mysterious planet is headed straight for Earth and will cause the extinction of life as they know it.
While most people are using their remaining time on Earth to succumb to their most hedonistic impulses, one woman, Carol, is unsure of how she's supposed to be spending this time, preferring to stick with her daily routines and creature comforts rather than pushing boundaries or seizing the day. Described as an "existential comedy," Carol & The End of the World comes from creator Dan Guterman, an Emmy-winning writer who previously worked on The Colbert Report, Community, and Rick & Morty.
Get to know the voice cast behind the many characters featured in Carol & The End of the World below.
Martha Kelly as Carol
Stand-up comedian Martha Kelly voices the titular character Carol Kohl in Netflix's adult animated series. Kelly has primarily done comedy for most of her career, but booked her first acting role in 2016 when she started working with friend and colleague Zach Galifianakis on his FX show Baskets. Her other credits include Hacks, Gaslit, I Love That For You, The Great North, What We Do in the Shadows, and Grace and Frankie. Euphoria fans might recognize her as Laurie from season 2, a role that earned her a Primetime Emmy nomination.
Beth Grant as Pauline
Beth Grant is a long-time actress who has appeared in many acclaimed projects over the years, such as Speed, Donnie Darko, The Mindy Project, Little Miss Sunshine, Wonderfalls, Pushing Daisies, Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Office, and Dollface. In early 2023, she played Carlotta on AMC's adaptation of Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches. Grant voices Carol's mother and Bernard's wife Pauline in Carol & The End of the World.
Lawrence Pressman as Bernard
The character Bernard is Carol's father and the husband of Pauline. He and his wife just want what's best for their daughter as they share a concern that she's not getting the most out of the short time she has left with the end of the world looming. Prodigious actor Lawrence Pressman voices the character Bernard. The 84-year-old has more than 175 credits to his name but is probably best known for his work in Doogie Howser, M.D., American Pie, 9 to 5, Ladies' Man, Profiler, and Mulligan's Stew.
Michael Chernus as Eric
Severance star Michael Chernus voices Carol's love interest Eric, a single dad trying to make the most of his limited time left. Apart from Severance, Chernus is also known for playing The Tinkerer in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Cal in Orange is the New Black, and Edward Tavner in Prime Video series Patriot. Some of his other credits include Werewolves Within, Dead Ringers, Little America, Ramy, and Prodigal Son.
