It's almost May 2024, which means Netflix will soon be releasing its full list of new releases coming next month. In fact, we've already begun to find out about some of the shows and movies coming in May. One of those shows is believed to be Your Honor.

According to What's on Netflix, both seasons of Your Honor will be landing on Netflix on Friday, May 31, 2024. However, the news outlet did say that this release date is subject to change, so we'll have to take this information with a grain of salt. But if the show does end up dropping on Netflix on May 31, it'll most likely drop at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET, which is the typical time that the streamer releases new content on its platform. Once the complete list of shows and movies coming to Netflix in May 2024 is released, we'll know for sure whether or not Your Honor will be released in May.

Your Honor is a legal drama series developed by Peter Moffat that ran for two seasons. Its first season premiered on Showtime in December 2020. It was initially ordered as a miniseries but was later picked up for a second season in August 2021. Like many other TV shows nowadays, the legal drama is based on another piece of work. It's an American series adaptation of the Israeli TV show Kvodo from Ron Ninio and Shlomo Mashiach.

It stars Emmy Award-winning actor Bryan Cranston as a highly-regarded New Orleans judge who does everything in his power to protect his son, who was involved in a hit-and-run collision with the son of an organized crime family. You might recognize Cranston from his starring role as Walter White in the hit AMC crime drama series Breaking Bad, which is currently streaming on Netflix.

Cranston stars as Michael Desiato in the legal drama, while Hunter Doohan plays his teenage son, Adam Desiato. Doohan is best known for starring as Tyler Galpin in Netflix's most popular show of all time, Wednesday. Also joining them in the cast are Hope Davis, Sofia Black-D'Elia, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Michael Stuhlbarg, Carmen Ejogo, Andrene Ward-Hammond, Keith Machekanyanga, Benjamin Flores Jr., and many others.

While many critics didn't like the first season, most regular viewers enjoyed it. Below, we shared what some viewers had to say about season 1 via Rotten Tomatoes.

"The critics went hard on this series, not sure why. The story and performances were great, especially Cranston. I did feel that there should've been only 8 episodes instead of the 10. That would've eliminated some of the unnecessary filler. Aside from some plot and technical issues, the story flowed nice and simple. Directing was on point as was the cinematography and score. I'm glad they renewed it for a second season, because that crazy finale certainly needs a continuation. It's a well deserved 8/10 from me."

"How could any critic not love this show it is just as tense as breaking bad. Awesome court thriller with ‘Walter' playing both sides of the fence ducking mob bosses and nosy detectives to keep him and his son out of harms way. Big time recommend this to anyone who liked BB."

When it comes to season 2, critic Graeme Blundell of The Australian says the second season is "an unsettling but distressing representation of what can happen to someone when it feels like all faith and hope and personal conviction have been taken away."
