Netflix released the latest gripping miniseries to its ranks at the top of May 2024, and it's sure to be the next big hit that everyone will be watching. A Man in Full stars Emmy Award-winner Jeff Daniels as an embattled businessman dodging bullets left and right. Understandably, the miniseries won't be for every viewer, especially not for younger viewers.

A Man in Full has been rated TV-MA for language, nudity, and sex. While we can confirm that those three things are most definitely featured within the show's six episodes, there might be some prospective watchers out there that are curious about just how graphic its mature themes are before beginning a binge-watch. Below, we're diving into the show's rating and offering content warnings.

WARNING: While the following explanations will be mostly spoiler-free, there are still instances of minor spoilers from the show's content.

A Man in Full content warnings

Throughout the six episodes of the series, the characters use heightened language and generous amounts of profanity. Some of the language used goes beyond the typical profanities used in TV-MA series and could be offensive to some viewers. There are words like "c-cks-cker" used as well as other graphic uses of the word "f-ck." Proceed with caution when watching around little ears.

In addition to language, there's a fair amount of violence in the series, though the majority of the violence is alluded to or shown after it has occurred. In the first episode, there's a scene involving police brutality from a white male cop against a Black man, who fights back against the cop. More of this scene is shown later on in the series via video recordings. There's also a scene showing the aftermath of a man having been beat up in prison.

Beyond language and violence, the series contains other scenes that viewers might find disturbing. If you have a fear of snakes, you will probably want to avoid a scene toward the end of episode 2 involving Charlie picking up a rattlesnake with his bare hands. The scene features multiple closeups on the snake. In episode 3, Charlie and others watch as two horses breed. There is a closeup on a man grabbing the horse's reproductive organ that's shocking to say the least. Finally, in episode 4, Charlie undergoes knee surgery, and there's a closeup featuring blood. If you don't like medical gore, consider yourself warned.

As for sex scenes, there are a few of them, though they aren't severely explicit and don't involve graphic nudity. The second episode features a sex scene between a man and a woman with no nudity shown. The sixth episode features another sex scene between a man and a woman that's a bit longer and more graphic in nature. There's male rear nudity in the scene and after the scene, there's male full frontal nudity. More on that below...

Yes, there's full frontal nudity

In the sixth and final episode of A Man in Full, in the final sequence of the series, there is an instance of graphic male full frontal nudity. After being caught by Charlie having sex with his ex-wife Martha, Raymond covers the bottom half of his naked body with a shirt. Feeling confident in getting Charlie back, Raymond removes the shirt to display his fully erect penis.

The scene's a bit jarring because you're really not expecting Tom Pelphrey's character to expose himself in that manner. While the scene features graphic male full frontal nudity, the scene isn't a closeup, rather a zoomed out shot of Pelphrey's entire body and Jeff Daniels' Charlie standing in front of him. Still, you see everything. And for those wondering, yes, Pelphrey appears to be wearing a prosthetic.
