A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is now streaming on Netflix! We watched all six episodes of the first season of the BBC-Netflix series based on Holly Jackson’s book series of the same name. And, we just have to talk about that ending!

In the first episode of the series, Pippa Fitz-Amobi(Emma Myers) decides to find out if Sal Singh actually killed his girlfriend, Andie Bell, before killing himself five years ago. Throughout the season, Pippa has been doing this investigation, which connects her with Sal’s brother, Ravi, as a school project, but let’s be real. She’s doing this in the good name of justice and only justice.

Heading into the season finale, Pippa has just learned that her best friend’s father, Elliot Ward, had been having a relationship with Andie Bell prior to her death. Pippa goes to his old house, and she finds a mysterious woman that Elliot Bell has been holding captive for years.

So, did Elliot kill Andie? Did he kill Sal? Let’s get into it!

Trigger Warning: Sexual Assault

Who killed Sal?

At the beginning of the season finale of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, Elliot Ward admits to killing Sal while drinking heavily after picking up the girl he thought might be Andie Bell. This woman reveals this information to Pippa after she finds her in the attic of the Ward’s old home. The woman tried to escape, but Elliot wouldn’t let her leave.

To this mysterious woman, Elliott admits that he killed Sal after drugging him. He also claims to have been there in the woods when Sal died. He did it to protect Naomi and Cara.

We also know that he’s the person who had been threatening Pip for weeks, begging her to stop digging.

So, Sal was innocent of killing Andie Bell. That much is clear! Mr. Ward, Pip’s best friend’s father, is responsible for Sal's death, but what happened to Andie? That’s the last part of this mystery that Pip will solve.

What happened to Andie?

For some reason, it doesn’t add up to Pip. She goes back to the drawing board, and she realizes that Elliot Ward couldn’t have killed Barnie, Pip’s dog.

Dan Da Silva allows Pip a few minutes in the jail with Elliot. He reveals that Jason, Andie’s father, had lied about his alibi the night Andie was killed. Elliot also reveals that Jason was abusive to Andie and Becca.

Elliot claims that Jason drove past him in a blue van the night he was looking for Andie after she left his house, panicked and needing money to leave town.

I don’t know how Pippa makes the connections that she does to put this whole case together, but it all comes back to the Bell family.

Becca’s friend reveals to Pippa that Becca was sexually assaulted at a calamity party, and somehow, that leads Pippa to Becca, where she asks a lot of questions and gets a lot of answers.

Becca admits to killing Andie, although Pippa reveals that Andie was already injured after a fight with Elliot by the time she came back to her house. Becca had learned that Andie had sold Max Hastings the drugs that he used to assault her. In a rage, she kills Andie, and then she takes her body to an abandoned well and drops her body in.

Ravi and Cara save Pippa’s life

After revealing what she did to her sister and showing Pippa where she stashed her sister’s body, Becca tries to kill Pippa. She put Rohypnol in Pippa’s cup of tea. When they get to the place where Andie’s body is, Pippa is struggling.

She is able to fight off Becca and run away, but not for long. Pippa eventually falls on the ground. Luckily, Ravi and Cara turn up just in time to scare off Becca. They’ve also called the police, and the police arrive on the scene to arrest Becca.

So, Pippa did it. She cracked the case!

To recap, Andie was seeing Elliot, but she was planning to run away and be with Sal. After an argument at the Ward house, Andie was injured, and she walked home. There, she was confronted by her sister, Becca, for selling Max the drugs that he used to assault Becca. Andie dies in the altercation. Becca buried her body in a well, and she was going to throw Pippa in, too, after Pippa figured it all out.

Elliot was also just a big weirdo who had a girl who looked a lot like Andie stashed in the attic of his old home.

In the final scenes, Pippa promises to not stop until Max is held accountable for his role in the various bad things he has been doing.

The season ends with Pippa and Ravi kissing by the lake.

That’s it for the first season of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. Hopefully, the show will be renewed for season 2!
