The third and final season of Vikings: Valhalla has finally arrived and brought the stories of Freydis, Leif, and Harald to an end. After three seasons and 24 episodes, the fan-favorite series and Vikings spinoff bid farewell with an ending viewers won't soon forget.
But if you have completed your Vikings: Valhalla binge-watch and you're ready to move on with a new series on Netflix, we're sharing a trio of shows in the action you can't go wrong with. Of course, we could recommend Vikings, The Last Kingdom, The Witcher, and other super similar shows on the streamer, but what are the odds that Valhalla fans haven't been there, watched those?
Keeping that in mind, we're suggesting three shows with all of the action and all of the drama, but still might be a bit different from the overarching sensibility of Vikings: Valhalla. Let's dive into three relatively short shows with pirates, superheroes, and martial artists that will have you hooked!
Black Sails
While not a Netflix original series, the Starz historical adventure series Black Sails was added to the streamer earlier in 2024 and earned moderate success. With fans revisiting the series and new fans discovering it, the show spent a bit of time in the top 10. Still, you might have missed the show the first time around on Netflix, but that's okay, the time is now!
The series bases itself as a prequel of sorts to Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson and takes place in the 18th century as Captain Flint leads a swashbuckling crew through a fight for survival and dominance, and of course, there are treasure hunts, too. Black Sails ran for four seasons and 38 total episodes, which makes for a lengthy but modest binge with all the same Valhalla sword fighting.
Supacell
One of the current most popular Netflix original series is also one of its newest. The action-sci-fi series Supacell from creator Rapman centers on five individuals in South London who mysteriously inherit superpowers. The six-episode first season finds the group coming together in order to figure out what's happened and help save one of their own.
Upon release in late June 2024, the series became an overnight success with viewers. The show even has an extremely rare 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes! Because of the success, the series could definitely go on for additional seasons and continue the seriously action-packed story. Don't miss this one and the action that's markedly different from Valhalla but gripping all the same.
Warrior
Another fan-favorite series that isn't a Netflix original but became available on the streaming service in early 2024, Warrior should be on your radar after finishing Vikings: Valhalla. The martial arts series is based on writings by Bruce Lee and takes place in the 1870s during the Tong Wars. When a martial artist arrives in San Francisco from China looking for his sister, he takes on a whole new battle.
Warrior aired its first two seasons on Cinemax before moving to Max for its third and ultimately final season. With its resurgence on Netflix, there were hopes that the show could possibly be picked up for a fourth season, but nothing has come to fruition yet. Regardless, it's still a great binge full of thrilling action, and with only three seasons and 30 episodes, it's a quick binge, too!
