1 thing My Life with the Walter Boys season 2 needs to avoid for Jackie

My Life with the Walter Boys was an instant hit when it was released on Netflix on Dec. 7. Since its debut, it has ranked highly on the streamer's Global English Top 10 TV List. It has even reached the Top 10 in 88 countries. Additionally, it's been getting all the love on TikTok with the show accumulating over 800 million views with its title hashtag. With all this major success, it was a no-brainer that Netflix would renew it. And the streamer did just that on Dec. 19.

My Life with the Walter Boys season 2 is officially happening, and we can't wait to see Jackie's story continue! It'll be interesting to see where the writers decide to take Jackie in the second season. The first season's ending saw Jackie running away from her problems and hopping on a plane to New York to spend the summer with her Uncle Richard.

But she has to come back to Silver Falls and face the music eventually, right? Although plot details for the second season haven't been revealed yet, there's something that we hope the writers don't do regarding the Jackie character in season 2.

No adding to the already complicated love triangle

When Jackie moves to Silver Falls, Colorado, in the first season, her initial plan is to keep her head low and focus on her academic studies. But once she meets the Walter boys, Alex and Cole Walter, she finds herself catching feelings for both of them.

However, Alex swooped in and eventually got Jackie to be his girlfriend first. But although he and Jackie become an item, Jackie still can't avoid her feelings for Cole. The tension reaches an all-time high in the season 1 finale, and Jackie and Cole share a passionate first kiss. Yes, Jackie cheated on Alex with Cole.

Refusing to deal with the consequences of her actions, Jackie leaves an apology note for Alex and gets on a plane to New York with her uncle the next morning. As we mentioned above, Jackie will most likely have to return to Silver Falls once the summer is over, which means she'll have to see Alex and Cole again. I can only imagine how that reunion will go...

But how will the writers choose to spice up the plot in My Life with the Walter Boys season 2? Well, something we see happen way too often in teen shows is the addition of more love interests. We saw this happen in Never Have I Ever, and it made no sense because anytime Devi got a new love interest, they would only last for an episode or two before she kicked them to the curb.

Personally, I hate when TV shows do this because sometimes I end up liking the new love interests more than the originals. Jackie doesn't need any more drama in her life. Alex and Cole are enough, and hopefully, she makes up her mind on who she really wants to be with. Adding anyone else to the already complicated love triangle would just seem unnecessary. Who knows, maybe she'll choose herself in the end. We'll have to keep tuning in to My Life with the Walter Boys to find out.
