Warning: There are spoilers ahead for the series finale of Outer Banks as the bonus content during the credits is connected to the final scene from the series finale.

Typically, when we reach the end of an episode of Outer Banks, especially a season finale, there isn’t any reason to stick around once the final scene comes to a close. This ain’t the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the Netflix series has never been one to drop a little bonus scene at the end of an episode as a way to continue the story or set up the next season. Interestingly, though, the Outer Banks creative team decided to change things up with their final episode.

In the final minutes of the Outer Banks series finale, fans get the chance to watch John B and Sarah get married in front of all of their family and friends. The closing moments of the actual show are the pair’s wedding ceremony and the group of Pogues—plus John B and Sarah’s baby, JJ—comes

As the credits begin to roll, fans are treated to a really sweet photo and video montage that contains additional glimpses from John B and Sarah’s wedding and reception. We get to see photos from the ceremony, get a glimpse at the couple’s Twinkie-shaped wedding cake, enjoy clips of the Pogues and their guests dancing at the reception, and even get a brief cameo from Rafe, who joined the celebration via a FaceTime call.

The final moment of the montage sees John B carrying his bride across the threshold of their home as the wedding reel comes to a close and the final credits begin to roll. It’s a really fun way to give fans some bonus content as the credits roll, but surprisingly that’s not the only treat awaiting fans at the end of the series finale.

Not only does Netflix give fans a reason to stick around through the credits, but there is also a surprise for those who wait through the full credits.

There is no Outer Banks post-credit scene but there is a surprise for fans at the end of the series finale

Outer Banks has never been a show to incorporate post-credit scenes offering up bonus content after the final scene of an episode, but the show did work in a fun little treat for fans in the series finale. No, it’s not a bonus scene or anything teasing a new adventure. Instead, it’s a small little nod to the fans who have been part of the journey and helped make the show into a global sensation.

So what is in store for fans who are patient enough to sit through the full credits for Outer Banks’ series finale?

At the very end of the series finale, after the last of the credits have finished, the show’s creative team included a special title card that reads "P4L." It’s a simple title card, but we honestly cannot think of a better way to end Outer Banks than with a callback to the show’s iconic tagline, “Pogues 4 Life," as a way to honor the fans.

We love that the creative team snuck in an Easter egg to close out the series finale, as it was a perfect final shot before the episode truly came to a close. It’s a sweet reminder that while the show might be over, we’re all Pogues for life and we’ll always carry a piece of Outer Banks with us.
