Will the Pogues bring JJ back from the dead or honor him in other ways on Outer Banks Season 5?

It's the end of an era. Outer Banks season 5 premieres in a week, and it's time for even more goodbyes. Fans have endlessly discussed how the Pogues would avenge JJ's (Rudy Pankow) death since that heartbreaking season 4 finale. It seemed permanent, yet theories have circulated, especially since the trailers have surfaced.

The Pogues, led by Kiara, aim to locate the Blue Crown, which legend states has the power to bring back the dead. That implies that their sole mission is to save JJ. While they still want revenge on Chandler Groff, they become more focused on finding the Blue Crown. Watching Kiara, Sarah, John B, and the others mourn him will be emotional, but not as draining as it was for them to film

I'm sure they craved JJ's presence. However, I'm unsure if Outer Banks has become a supernatural series, as much as I'd love to see them resurrect JJ. He was my favorite character, like many other fans, and I suspect some of the heart and soul will be missing. I don't doubt the Pogues will try to save JJ and that they'll honor their friend every step along the way.

We hope to see some powerful flashbacks of JJ

The final Outer Banks trailer contained several meaningful flashbacks, which made me cry and left me longing for more. They'd also be a perfect way to incorporate JJ into the final season.

Rudy Pankow has stated that he hasn't filmed any scenes of JJ for Outer Banks season 5. He could very well be telling the truth. However, he could be in a few scenes, but he might not be allowed to spill any tea either. Flashbacks could be a perfect way to bring him into the mix via new scenes.

I suspect that the final season will highlight older flashbacks during the mission, and using old footage would be a great way to feature JJ. They can't have an arc about finding JJ's killer without showing scenes about JJ. He was loved by everyone. He was like a brother to John B, Pope, and Sarah, while JJ and Kiara experienced a complex romantic relationship.

Another way the show could honor JJ's legacy in the final season would be John B and Sarah naming their baby after him.

This would be the ultimate honor, especially since JJ jumped into the ocean to protect Sarah after she fell overboard. He would have done anything for Sarah, John B, and their unborn child, as they were his family. They would be lucky if their child ended up with JJ's spirit and loyalty.

I suspect that since the Pogues never give up, they could also honor JJ by reclaiming Poguelandia. None of them would want to return home after the legal trouble they'd be in, so they could live there and perhaps reopen their surf shop in remembrance of him. JJ was the happiest there, and it would be nice if the Pogues could celebrate something after five years.
