Each season, Nobody Wants This continues to prove the irony of its title. Everybody wants this show, and it's apparent in the viewership numbers. The Emmy Award-nominated romantic comedy released its third season on Oct. 22, leaving fans the ability to binge-watch all three seasons over the weekend. It's safe to say many of us took advantage of Joanne and Noah's comeback.
Netflix revealed the latest weekly viewership numbers for the Global Top 10 English-Language TV Shows chart, which featured the debut of Nobody Wants This season 3 in the No. 2 position. In the season's first four days of release, the rom-com earned 6.2 million views, which was again a bit down from season 2's four-day debut frame but enough to mark a big Netflix ratings win.
There has been a lot of conversation lately about Netflix original series, especially comedies, returning with new seasons with significantly declined viewership. Nobody Wants This has managed to avoid the 50 perfect slash other shows have faced, but the season 3 premiered arrives as "biggest opening week for a returning comedy series in 2026," per Netflix. That's great news!

Nobody Wants This season 3 ratings success paves the way for season 4
As of this writing, Netflix hasn't announced the renewal of Nobody Wants This season 4, though based on the viewership numbers and the fan excitement, there's no doubt that an official renewal will be imminent for the hit comedy. It's by far the most popular original comedy series on the streamer's roster, and with Emmy nominations to boot, there's no cancellation concern here.
Nobody Wants This debuted with 10.3 million views upon its premiere back in September 2024, and the second season stood up to those numbers with a debut of 8.6 million views in October 2025. From season 1's numbers to season 3's 6.2 million views, there's a bit of a drop, but for the most part, the rom-com remains stable and hasn't dipped into the dangerous territory.
According to Variety, the first two seasons also enjoyed a viewership bump with the release of season 3. Clearly, fans went back and binge-watched from the start, as seasons 1 and 2 had a viewership increase of 200 percent in comparison to the previous week's data. While the previous seasons didn't chart on the weekly global leaderboard this week, this is a bonafide binge-watch hit.

Erin Foster's comments on Nobody Wants This season 4
In an interview with Parade, creator Erin Foster revealed that she's already thinking ahead to what happens next for Joanne and Noah. "I do think that there’s more story to tell. But I’m also someone who doesn’t get too attached to the outcome and is sort of fluid about allowing sort of the market to tell us what they want from us. I never want to have a show that goes on longer than people want to see it. I’d rather people want more than want less."
Based on that answer, Foster appears both ready to continue telling the story with Nobody Wants This season 4 but also will be willing to not overstay her welcome. Whether it's the fans, the cast, the streamer, or the organic evolution of the story, she's allowing the timing to be right for the series' longevity. She further expressed who she views the future of the show to Parade when asked whether she's hoping for a fourth season or views season 3 as an ending:
"I feel both. I mean, of course, I’m so attached to this show and to the story, and would love to see it continue. But I also really honor the fact that sometimes things end before you’re ready. I do think that’s better than ending after everybody has wished that it was already off the air. So I don’t know. I think people loving this season so much already does make me want to tell more of their story. So I’m game. I mean, I think it’s a special show, and it’s been such an incredible experience for all of us. So, it’s hard to walk away from," Foster explained.
It's kind of mixed signals from the creator, but she at least appears to be excited about the prospect of continuing Joanne and Noah's story. After season 3 (spoiler alert!), which found the couple getting engaged and later secretly getting married, they would be embarking on another new chapter in season 4, which could include starting a family. The numbers tell us that the show's future is as bright as that of its main characters.
