A new real estate reality series will be moving into Netflix right at the top of 2025. The streaming service announced on Dec. 4 that the latest Selling Sunset spinoff, titled Selling the City, makes its premiere on Friday, Jan. 3, 2025. If you have been waiting for more broker drama on your screens, Netflix will be delivering the goods right at the top of the new year.
Like the other two Selling Sunset spinoffs in the franchise, the defunct Selling Tampa and the not-yet-renewed Selling the OC, the new edition takes place in a new locale in the United States. This time around, the Selling saga is heading up north on the East Coast to New York City, where the Douglas Elliman real estate agents compete over the city's various luxury listings.
Take a closer look at the new show's synopsis via Netflix's press release:
"From the creators of Selling Sunset and Selling the OC comes Selling the City, a new series following a dynamic group of no-nonsense, kickass agents at Douglas Elliman as they navigate the cutthroat world of luxury real estate in New York City. From intense competition to the fast-paced careers and personal dramas of these agents, Selling the City promises to deliver all the excitement against the stunning backdrop of the city’s real estate landscape."
Just like Selling Sunset, the next spinoff will give fans all of the glamour and gossip they crave from Netflix's slate of real estate reality shows, including Ryan Serhant's Owning Manhattan. Selling the City cast and trailer
Speaking of Ryan Serhant, one of the real estate broker and Owning Manhattan star's former Bravo costars appears in Selling the City. Steve Gold is one of the many agents starring in the new Netflix series, but he previously appeared in Bravo's Million Dollar Listing New York, which Serhant also appeared in. It's a small world/city/streaming service!

In addition to the release date announcement and the cast reveal, Netflix also unveiled the official trailer for the new series. While previewing all the luxury, super expensive listings the agents will be trying to sell throughout the eight-episode first season, the trailer also teases the drama and infighting that's to come. This might be the juiciest series in the Selling franchise yet!
While it's hard to know who will be the "villain" of the series, the trailer does an excellent job of setting up the dynamics among the cast and giving a cursory glance at the varied alliances and rivalries. One thing's for sure that the trailer confirms: There will be tears, and there will be screaming! Is there any better way to kick off 2025 than with an escape into a scandalous reality show?
