If you thought that East of Eden and Below were as good as it gets when it comes to Netflix original limited series this fall, there's plenty more excitement to come on our watch lists. Earlier this summer, the streaming service announced the release date for The Altruists, the forthcoming true crime limited series starring Julia Garner and Anthony Boyle, which now has a trailer.
The Altruists comes from creator Graham Moore and features three-time Emmy Award-winning Ozark star Julia Garner stepping into the role of Caroline Ellison, the co-CEO of Alameda Research and business partner of Sam Bankman-Fried. House of Guinness star Anthony Boyle plays Bankman-Fried, the founder and CEO of FTX at the center of a cryptocurrency scam.
Netflix offered an official first look at The Altruists with the release of the full trailer ahead of the show's global release on Nov. 19. In the trailer, Garner debuts her latest accent work that's sure to set the internet ablaze and lead to the star's next award season cycle. Beyond an introduction to the show's plot and tone, we also get a sneak peek at the series' highly anticipated guest star.

Without taking anything away from Garner and Boyle, who are the leads of the show and already display their magnetic chemistry in the trailer, the star everyone will be talking about is Hudson Williams. The breakout star of Heated Rivalry appears in The Altruists in a small role as Duncan Rheingans-Yoo, and fans finally got a look at the talented actor in action.
Williams makes an appearance in The Altruists trailer, delivering a single word ("What?"), but that's enough to get all of us fans looking forward to watching his latest performance after Yaga arrives on Crave and AMC+ this month and Heated Rivalry season 2 premieres next year. Netflix also dropped a photo of Williams dressed to the preppy nines as his character, which is featured below.
When Netflix first confirmed The Altruists release date and offered a tease at the limited series, there weren't any glimpses of Williams, despite him being one of the majors. (Again, apart from the gripping true story and Garner and Boyle's performances.) Before Heated Rivalry even blew up, us fans knew Williams had already filmed the role and have been anticipating his debut in a Netflix miniseries. (And he teams up with Garner again in the upcoming Amazon MGM movie Tyrant.)
Beyond the small role that Williams plays in The Altruists and Garner and Boyle's leading roles, the cast also includes Alex Lawther, Matt Rife, Madison Hu, Karan Soni, Eugene Young, and Naomi Okada. The supporting cast is further fleshed out with guest and recurring performances from Jennifer Grey, Terry Chen, Maddie Hasson, Paul Reiser, Robin Weigert, William Mapother, and more.
The eight-episode limited series borrows its plot from articles published by New York Magazine and captures how "Gen Z's own Bonnie & Clyde" were accused of stealing around $8 billion through their FTX cryptocurrency company and brought their financial empire crumbling before it could begin. No matter who or what you're tuning in for, it's going to be a very thrilling binge-watch.
The Altruists premieres on Thursday, Nov. 13 on Netflix. Get another first look at the series with the new photos from the limited series shared below!
