There are a few stars who have become the breakout talents on Netflix and each title they release on the streamer are instant hits. Millie Bobby Brown easily tops the list that also includes the likes of Kevin Hart, Adam Sandler, Jenna Ortega, and more who constantly take over the Top 10. But Julia Garner might be the true unsung hero of Netflix shows, and she's coming back very soon.

Garner broke out into the big time with Netflix's fan-favorite crime drama series Ozark, in which she played the ruthless Ruth Langmore and won three Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her dominating performance. The star also headlined the wildly popular limited series Inventing Anna, earning another Emmy nomination and even more acclaim from fans.

After completing her super popular Netflix series, Garner headed to the big screen for the movies Wolf Man, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and Weapons, next appearing in the film Tyrant. But before catching the Emmy winner back on the big screen, she's heading back to her old Netflix stomping grounds before the end of 2026 with the new limited series The Altruists.

The Altruists premieres on Netflix in November 2026

On Aug. 13, Netflix announced the release date for The Altruists and shared the first images for the series that show Garner and the cast in action. The limited series makes its premiere on Thursday, Nov. 19 with all eight episodes releasing at once. Since it drops the week before the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States, it's sure to be one of Netflix's biggest releases of fall 2026.

The Altruists comes from creator Graham Moore, the Academy Award-winning writer of the film The Imitation Game and the director of the 2022 crime thriller The Outfit. But the series has been on fans' radar for a different reason beyond Moore at the helm, Garner in the lead, or even the premise that was ripped from the headlines. The series also features one of the hottest stars of the moment.

Heated Rivalry star Hudson Williams appears in The Altruists in a reportedly recurring role, though its currently unconfirmed how many episodes the actor appears in. But it's expected to be a much smaller role than the main cast or the other guest cast members. Williams might be a budding A-lister right now, but he booked and completed the role long before his major breakthrough.

Nonetheless, all of us Hudson Williams fans will be tuning in to catch of his performance, but we're going to be entertained by the rest of the talented cast and the gripping premise. Inspired by a New York Magazine article, the series centers on the rise and fall of the FTX cryptocurrency exchange and the pair of leaders who were responsible for misallocated funds and a total collapse.

Check out the official synopsis for The Altruists: "The story of Sam Bankman-Fried and Caroline Ellison, two hyper-smart, ambitious young idealists who tried to remake the global financial system in the blink of an eye - before they were accused of stealing $8 billion and became Gen Z's own Bonnie & Clyde."

In addition to Garner playing Caroline Ellison, the series also features House of Guinness star Anthony Boyle as Sam Bankman-Fried. The main cast also includes Alex Lawther, Karan Soni, Naomi Okada, Madison Hu, Matt Rife, and Eugene Young. Beyond Williams, the recurring cast includes Paul Reiser, Robin Weigert, Maddie Hasson, Jennifer Grey, Marianna Phung, and more.

Netflix hasn't shared a teaser trailer (or any images of Hudson Williams) ahead of the premiere on Nov. 19, but take a closer look at The Altruists with more photos from the series below!
