If there's one thing that Netflix fans have had to practice in the last few years, it's patience. A number of the streamer's hit original series have taken anywhere from two to three years to return with new seasons, and while frustrating for fans, a lot of these long waits are starting to finally come to an end. The wait for The Gentlemen season 2 officially ends this fall.
Back in March 2024, Netflix debuted The Gentlemen, a spinoff series inspired by the 2019 film of the same name from writer and director Guy Ritchie. The series starring Theo James became a fan-favorite hit and earned a second season renewal. But we have been waiting for over two years now for new episodes. Thankfully, the series returns at long last in September.
The Gentlemen season 2 release date confirmed for September 2026
Netflix announced The Gentlemen season 2 release date, which will bring all eight brand-new episodes of the series to our watch lists on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026. Along with the release date announcement, the streaming service also dropped the first new footage from season 2 with a teaser trailer, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect from Eddie and Susie's new partnership.
The teaser trailer doesn't give too much away, but seeing the characters back on our screens and all the action that's to come, it's a thrilling first taste of the new season. Along with the teaser, Netflix also offered the official synopsis for The Gentlemen season 2 in its press release:
"It’s been one year since Eddie and Susie joined forces to work together in Bobby’s criminal empire overseas. As they drive to expand their enterprise, the decisions Bobby is making seem to be increasingly unsound. Now Eddie and Susie must decide whether to take action or risk losing it all, but unfettered ambition never ends well…"
In addition to James, The Gentlemen season 2 cast also includes Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Ray Winstone, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Jasmine Blackborow, Michael Vu, Harry Goodwins, Ruby Sear, Pearce Quigley, and Giancarlo Esposito. The new season features appearances by Hugh Bonneville, Benjamin Clementine, Michele Morrone, Chris Eubank Jr, Maya Jama, and more.

If there's any silver lining to The Gentlemen season 2 release date announcement, another than a release date has actually been announced, it's that Netflix won't be diverging from the season 1 release pattern. The complete second season will drop all at once rather than the streamer opting to split it in half. That's always a cause of annoyance among fans, but not this time.
There's no doubt that fans will have some kind of reaction of relief mixed with frustration with the long wait in between seasons, especially since the wait continues to expand until the end of summer. But on the bright side, now knowing that the season 2 premieres in September gives us a chance to revisit season 1 to remember what happened and where we left out.
The Gentlemen season 2 began production in spring 2025 and ended up wrapping up filming earlier than originally planned, but that didn't result in a release earlier than planned. But Netflix made the right decision by holding the release date until September, as the streamer has already had a packed schedule of hit series releases in the first half of 2026. The action comedy will be another big hit.
