Netflix has perfected the art of keeping viewers hooked, delivering powerful stories and cinematic experiences straight to our living rooms. What's so great is that the streamer gives us something new to look forward to every month. Whether it’s an emotional drama that pulls at your heartstrings or a high-stakes thriller that keeps you on edge, Netflix always finds a way to draw us in and keep us coming back for more.

And now, the streamer has done it again. After months of anticipation, endless online buzz, and fans impatiently waiting for its arrival, Netflix has finally dropped the horror movie we’ve all been dying to see. Truthfully, it feels almost surreal to finally have it here and available to watch! Netflix may not always hit the mark with its horror content. I mean, take Fear Street: Prom Queen, for example.

But this one is different. This is the kind of horror film that makes you sit up and take notice. The kind that proves Netflix isn’t just putting out content for the sake of it. It knows what its audience wants, and its mission is to deliver something that not only thrills but also leaves a lasting impression. Perhaps you've heard of the critically acclaimed 2025 horror flick, Frankenstein. This is the highly anticipated movie that Netflix has finally released, and it’s everything horror fans have been craving and more!

Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein is now streaming on Netflix

I don’t know about you, but there’s a special kind of anticipation when a horror movie you’ve been waiting for finally arrives. What makes this version of Frankenstein so electrifying is that it isn’t just retelling Mary Shelley’s 1818 classic. It’s reimagining it for a modern audience, and in the process, it’s making the story feel as alive and urgent as ever.

Knowing that Guillermo del Toro was at the helm assured us that this film was in good hands. He's crafted some of the most haunting, breathtaking, and emotionally resonant movies of our time, and with Frankenstein, he brought all of that genius to one of the most iconic stories ever told.

Frankenstein tells the story of a brilliant yet obsessed scientist, Victor Frankenstein, whose ambition to conquer death leads him to create life in a way that defies nature itself. But as with any tale of unchecked ambition, the consequences are devastating. Oscar Isaac stars in the leading role of Victor, and of course, he knocks it out of the park. Opposite him, Jacob Elordi steps into the role of the creature, and as expected from such a talented actor, he delivers an utterly captivating performance.

Also joining them in the cast are other gifted actors such as Mia Goth, Christoph Waltz, Christian Convery, Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley, Charles Dance, Lauren Collins, Sofia Galasso, Ralph Ineson, and Burn Gorman.

With Netflix dropping Frankenstein on a Friday, it's perfect timing to kick off the weekend with a fully immersive horror experience. I've already personally watched the film, but I've re-added it to my watchlist because it’s the kind of movie that demands a second viewing!
