Netflix subscribers are in the good part of the month. We saw a lot leave to begin the month, as we always do, but the second week is normally better—or at least less sad. Such is the case with the second week of April. Netflix subscribers only have to watch a relatively few things go away, but at least two saying goodbye are going to be brutally tough.

Not to disrespect anyone's favorite film, as the movies leaving in the first few days of the week will be bound to have someone say it's their favorite, but the final day of the week? Ew. Two completely different, but equally excellent, movies are gone.

OK one of the films leaving on April 11 is atrocious. We did not want to (one again) disrespect film lovers who think Pixels is the best flick ever. It's not, but one can think that./ The other film leaving on that day is part of a franchise, and a very good one at that. Both the movie and the franchise.

Netflix subscribers have to say goodbye to these nine movies leaving the week ending April 11, 2025

April 6

  • Andala Rakshasi (2012)
  • Kamalatho Naa Prayanam (2014)
  • Orbiter 9 (2017)

April 8

  • Born Beautiful (2019)
  • Megan Leavey / Rex (2017)

April 10

  • LA Originals (2020)
  • The Act of Killing: Theatrical Cut (2012)

April 11

  • Pixels (2015)
  • Scream (2022)

This is likely one of the saddest days of the month. Both these films are excellent. Let's take a moment to recognize Neve Campbell as one of our most underappreciated horror film actresses. Sure, Jamie Lee Curtis is a well-remembered face for horror, but Campbell should also be.

No one else could have been as Sidney as she is, and she has helped keep the films interesting. Besides Campbell, the Scream series does not get the love that franchises like Halloween do. It should.
