Netflix announces the most exciting The Four Seasons season 3 filming update

Prepare to book your next batch of seasonal vacations with one of the most dysfunctional friend groups currently on the small screen. The Four Seasons season 3 is on the way for another year of adventures, trips, and personal growth, and Netflix just shared exciting news.

Following the release of the Netflix original comedy series' second season in May 2026, Netflix renewed The Four Seasons for a third season. The renewal came as a delightful surprise, especially after season 2 experienced a significant drop in viewership compared to its debut.

The Four Seasons season 3 is now filming

Thankfully, we're back for another round of jet-setting with the core group as Netflix finally revealed that The Four Seasons season 3 has started production. The streaming service marked the occasion by sharing a photo of the six returning series regulars: Colman Domingo, Will Forte, Tina Fey, Erika Henningsen, Marco Calvani, and Kerri Kenney-Silver.

As previously reported, The Four Seasons season 3 began filming right on time with its start date in September. The new season is expected to wrap filming sometime in December ahead of the holidays and the end of the year. While additional filming locations haven't been revealed, but part of the season is said to be filmed in Santa Fe, New Mexico with other locations expected to follow.

The past two seasons of the series have filmed within parts of New York and New Jersey before heading abroad to Italy in season 2. Based on how the second season ended, The Four Seasons season 3 could potentially take place, at least partially, in Italy once again, though we'll have to wait and see what Fey and the creative team have in store for the storytelling.

In The Four Seasons season 2, the group grappled with the grief surrounding the loss of their beloved friend Nick (Steve Carrel) and the impending birth of his child with Ginny (Erika Henningsen). Danny (Colman Domingo) and Claude (Marco Calvani) experienced conflict on whether to start a family before winding up moving to Italy to be closer to Claude's mother.

Meanwhile, Danny's friendship with Kate (Tina Fey) became strained at the same time that she and Jack (Will Forte) hit an uncomfortable patch in their marriage. It's all part of the growing pains and grief, which Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver) also knew all too well. Anne wound up becoming close to Ginny and her baby before deciding to temporarily move to Italy on her own.

Netflix hasn't shared casting news for The Four Seasons season 3, but considering Anne was hitting it off with Gianpiero (David Tennant) in the season 2 finale, we're expecting him to be back in some capacity for an update on their relationship. In addition to Tennant, the new season should also add a few more new guest stars to the cast.

Because production began and will wrap before 2026 comes to an end, that paves the way for Netflix to release The Four Seasons season 3 sometime in 2027. The first two seasons of the series have had late spring releases in May, which could likely be the case once again with the third season.
