Netflix is adding 37 new movies and shows this week (Dec. 1, 2024)

December is finally here and with it comes a bunch of new movies and shows to Netflix. This week brings a ton of new additions, including a Christmas special from a famous pop star, a new drama series, and the start of the final season of a popular anime show.

First up is A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter! The Xmas special hits Netflix on Friday, Dec. 6, 2024. In the musical special, Carpenter will sing, welcome guests, and be her overall delightful self. Some of the guests will include Cara Delevingne, Sean Astin, Quinta Bronson, Shania Twain, and Chapell Roan. I will definitely be watching this to start off my holiday season!

Black Doves is also coming to Netflix this week! The series stars Keira Knightley, Ben Whishaw, Tracey Ullman, Sarah Lancashire, and Finn Bennett and comes to Netflix on Thursday, Dec. 5. The series follows a woman who has an affair with a man who doesn't know her secret identity but faces danger when her lover is caught up in the underground world of London. To protect her, they call in Sam Young. Let's just say... the two have history.

Anime fans, rejoice! BEASTARS is back for the first part of its final season starting on Thursday, Dec. 5. The anime is based on the manga of the same name by Paru Itagaki. The show follows a world full of anthropomorphic animals who go to school together. In this season, Legoshi decides to leave the school and live by himself while fighting his inner struggles, Louis confronts his father, and Hari faces trouble after trouble despite liking life on campus.
