Netflix is adding 21 movies and series this week (May 11, 2025)

Love. Death. Romance. Crime. Gambling. And yes, robots.
Love, Death + Robots season 4
Love, Death + Robots season 4

Netflix is bringing some heavy hitters to your screens this week. Your favorite streaming service has them all: new movies, series, and seasons of fan favorites.

If you're looking for true crime - not the political kind, we've had more than enough of that, thank you - Netflix has it this week. Looking to escape it all with some light comedy? You'll find it here. Or maybe you want your laughs in a darker vein - you came to the right place. And if you wish for some sheer terror, well...yeah, you know you've found it on Netflix. Expect more than a few to crack the top five.

You can uncover the truth of a pair of crazed killers, or follow the twisted path of a supplement snake oil salesman. Look behind the curtain of another of America's biggest manhunts. Or relax and let romance carry you away. This is the week for you, from manhunts to marriage, rappers to robots.

Netflix opens with romance before diving into horror this week

Tastefully Yours kicks off the new week on Monday. The new Korean rom-com series premieres globally on the same day, so you don't have to worry about your friends in Busan ruining the plot. The heir to a massive food company matches wits with the stubborn chef of a single-table restaurant.

She's an artisan, he's a soulless money-grubbing - sorry, a corporate type. If you've seen The Shop Around the Corner or You've Got Mail, you know sparks will fly. Lucky you, they'll fly for 10 episodes.

Netflix gets serious on Tuesday with three new releases. Season 7 of the football drama All American lands today, continuing its run from the CW network to the streaming service giant. Next is the latest installment of an excellent documentary series with Untold: The Liver King.

Influencer and Instagram star - yecch to both - Brian Johnson made hundreds of millions selling supplements. Too bad it was all - well, watch the show and see for yourself.

Catch Tom Segura's Bad Thoughts for disturbing stories that will make you laugh. Your brain is in for trouble in each of the six episodes. I mean, check out the trailer and tell me you aren't at least a little afraid to watch this.

Yeah, you only thought the schedule was crowded before. Wednesday brings six new titles, including the latest in the Manhunt series, American Manhunt: Osama bin Laden. After that, I recommend you make a 180 for season 17 of Married at First Sight. Okay fam, it's time to get fictional.

The series Snakes and Ladders follows a teacher in Jalisco, Mexico, who dreams of nothing but becoming the principal of her prestigious school. As it turns out, she'll do almost anything to make it happen in this dark comedy.

Let's switch it up again. I never knew what I really needed to see, which was some Polish rap battles. Lucky me, I can in Rhythm + Flow: Poland. Sadly, there's no smooth segue to this. A truly horrifying story unfolds in Fred and Rose West: A British Horror Story. The couple carried out a 20-year murder spree in Gloucester, England, and the gory details are all here.

If your taste runs to fictional horror, Smile delivers the goods. It's one of the 10 best horror films of the decade, I mean, I've only watched it five times already. The cinematography, the acting, and sound design are all tremendous. Star Sosie Bacon proves she's no nepo baby.

I know you thought Wednesday was busy. Get ready for more, as Netflix piles it on this Thursday with seven new titles. Bet could be the next sleeper hit. The 10-episode series is an adaptation of the manga Kakegurui. In this exclusive private school, gambling determines everyone's social status. I bet the guidance counselor is slammed at this joint.

That looks suitably insane. The series Franklin is a bit more grounded, as it follows a counterfeiter forced to create the perfect 100-dollar bill to save his kidnapped daughter. I did say a bit more grounded. The six episodes of the Danish crime drama Secrets We Keep recounts the disappearance of a young au pair, and the - surprise! - secrets of the family next door.

The sports documentary Vini Jr. follows the career of Real Madrid superstar winger. Changing things up, the fifth season of the Norwegian series Pernille debuts, along with season 2 of Thank You, Next. The former details the struggles of a single mom, while the latter continues the story of a young lawyer finding her way after a devastating breakup.

The week's prize for me is volume four of the incredible Love, Death & Robots series. The science fiction/fantasy series has produced some of the most staggering animation ever seen. It's been three very long years since the last volume hit. All I can say is that the best is always worth the wait. A warning: the trailer, like the series itself, is not exactly kid-safe, nor NSFW.

Okay fam. To be honest, I'm not that interested in what shows up on Friday, as I'll just have Love, Death & Robots on repeat for about a week. But onward we trudge, regardless. The Quilters is a documentary short that follows maximum-security prisoners who sew, yes, quilts for foster children. Hang on, I've got something in my eye.

Okay, that's better. The Dutch comedy series Football Parents shows that obnoxious sports parents aren't exclusive to the U.S. The Spanish dramatic series Rotten Legacy follows a media mogul as he returns from a health crisis to find his children have steered his empire drastically off course. And Daddy ain't happy.

We wrap up with the K-drama Dear Hongrang. After 12 years, Hong-rang returns to his wealthy family. But he has no memory of his childhood. So, is he the real heir? The real mystery might be the episode count of the period drama. Reportedly, Hong-rang's half-sister Jae-yi will have 12 episodes to figure out if he's truly her long-lost brother, or if it's okay that she likes him so much. Like, really likes him.
