It took only two days for Untold: The Fall of Favre to reach this accomplishment

Shock and awe.

Say what you will about Brett Favre, and Netflix certainly did, but he can still bring viewers to the TV or PC monitor screens. As an NFL player, he was one of the most popular. In his post-career years, things have not gone as well.

He is still famous and well-known, but whether he is well-liked is another question. That is not to say that Favre deserves all the love and none of the hate he receives, but he was always a divisive character.

The recently released documentary (on May 20) Untold: The Fall of Favre shines a spotlight on some questionable activities Favre might have intentionally participated in. One concern is the misappropriation of Mississippi welfare funds to help build a volleyball stadium at the University of Southern Mississippi, where Favre's daughter was playing the sport.

Netflix's Brett Favre documentary, Untold: The Fall of Favre, is about to hit number one

Another is some alleged inappropriate texts Favre sent New York jets reporter Jenn Sterger. In other words, the Netflix documentary was never going to be about all the happiness Favre has had post-football. It couldn't be.

Favre does not participate in the doc, so a lot depends of how much of a fan of his you are. If you like him and believe him, you are going to greatly dislike the Netflix project. If you never liked him then you might relish all that is being said about him.

What is absolutely true on both sides is that people want to watch the documentary. It is short, at just 63 minutes, and maybe people watch it more than once. But when Netflix releases its top 10 most-viewed movies next week, Untold: The Fall of Favre will be number one, according to Forbes.

Favre might regret not participating in the film. He wouldn't have come off looking any worse if he had. Plus, maybe he could have been paid somehow. He seems to care about money quite a bit, so he missed an opportunity by not speaking during a documentary about how much of a mess things have been for him in recent years.
