It's safe to say that once again, Harlan Coben has knocked it out of the park. The best-selling author and incredibly prolific producer notched another massive success with Netflix after the release of his latest miniseries I Will Find You. In its debut weekend, the series posted impressive viewership ratings that were only outdone but one other hit Harlan Coben Netflix show.
Even though the final episode of I Will Find You wrapped up all the loose ends and solved the central mystery, it's clear by the show's success that viewers were left wanting more. Shows can be marketed as a limited series, but that doesn't stop us from hoping that a second season will happen. Unfortunately, Coben already threw water on that hope, but there's still a silver lining.
Harlan Coben confirmed I Will Find You season 2 won't happen
Shortly after the release of I Will Find You, Coben confirmed in an interview with TV Insider that he has no intention of bringing the series back for a second season. The author explained, "Whenever I do a show—I think this is my 13th series with Netflix—it's always with the intention of never writing these characters again. It’s all out on the table. It’s not fair to ask people to watch eight episodes of a series and wait two years for season 2, so everything is kind of answered."

Coben has never continued any of his shows with a follow-up season, meaning that it shouldn't come as a surprise to fans that he won't be changing his rules for I Will Find You, no matter how many million views the series receives. He's right that the storylines for the characters have been wrapped up, though we might still have lingering questions about David and Rachel's relationship.
Unless Netflix wanted to remain in the world of this show and turn it into an anthology series about missing children, there's no real reason for the streaming service to renew it for season 2. There's no reason for a sequel to this miniseries since the story had a beginning, middle, and end. But that doesn't mean Netflix won't continue to lean on Coben for more hit series.
Three new Harlan Coben shows are in the works at Netflix
Luckily, Coben will continue to extend his collaboration with Netflix as he and the streamer already have three new shows on the way. As always, we can expect his next show to kick off the new year with a mysterious bang in 2027. Netflix often drops a new Harlan Coben show on New Year's Day, and that could very well be the case with his next new show after I Will Find You.
First up to bat on Coben's Netflix series roster is his new adaptation of his novel The Woods. The book was first adapted in 2020 with a Polish rendition on Netflix, but Coben and the streamer are taking another stab at the series with a new adaptation hailing from the UK. Tom Bateman and Michelle Keegan lead the mystery series about a man's investigation into his sister's supposed death.
In addition to The Woods, Coben will also team up with The Lincoln Lawyer creator David E. Kelley for an adaptation of his Myron Bolitar series, which is expected to be released in either late 2027 or early 2028. Coben has also joined forces with his Gone Before Goodbye co-author Reese Witherspoon to executive produce a series adaptation of Emily Giffin's book All We Ever Wanted.
The latter doesn't appear to be as far along in the development process as the other two, but if there's any takeaway here it's that there are plenty more Coben shows coming to Netflix even if they aren't I Will Find You season 2. Keep your watch lists ready for the impending arrival of another twisty mystery from the master of the genre by early next year!
