Bridgerton fans have a lot to look forward to these days. The hit Netflix original series has been renewed for a fifth season, which is now in production and has been confirmed to release sometime in 2027. That's right, for the first time in the show's history, we won't be waiting two years in between seasons, though it does depend on when in 2027 season 5 is released, doesn't it?
Aside from Bridgerton season 5, Netflix also gave the show an early season 6 renewal alongside the announcement for season 5. That means, we have two more seasons confirmed to be coming down the pipeline, and hopefully the show's future will remain bright. But even sooner than the season 5 release, there's a Bridgerton reunion headed for our watch lists on Hulu.
Simone Ashley and Nicola Coughlan set for Only Murders in the Building season 6
Only Murders in the Building season 6 will host a Bridgerton reunion between stars Nicola Coughlan and Simone Ashley. Both actresses have been cast in recurring guest roles for the Hulu comedy's upcoming season, which is currently in production across the pond in London. Since the show relocated from New York to the UK for season 6, handfuls of British talent has joined the cast.

As is the nature of a television series revolving around a murder mystery, the names and descriptions for Ashley and Coughlan's characters haven't been revealed by Hulu. It's also unclear if the Bridgerton stars will share the screen together, though we're certainly hoping that will be the case. Nonetheless, both of them guest starring in the same season is an unexpected excitement for fans.
In addition to Ashley and Coughlan appearing in Only Murders in the Building season 6, the Hulu series has also cast Jennifer Saunders, Sean Teale, Amar Chadha-Patel, Rhea Norwood, Matthew Beard, Sharon Horgan, David Tennant, Jodie Whittaker, Jim Broadbent, Richard Ayoade, Adrian Lukis, and Kathryn Hunter in other recurring guest roles.
While Coughlan has already been confirmed to appear once again as Penelope in a series regular role in Bridgerton season 5, it's unclear whether Ashely will manage to make an appearance as Kate Sharma. Since Ashley starred as the lead in season 2, she and on-screen husband Jonathan Bailey have had reduced roles in the series as to be expected when the series moves on.
In season 4, Kate and Anthony welcomed their son Edmund to the Bridgerton family during their trip home. Since they aren't a major part of the story in season 5, we might not see Kate and Anthony this go around, though showrunner Jess Brownell shared that Kate will have a much bigger role in the season center on Eloise's love story, which means we'll see Ashley back on screen then. For what it's worth, Ashley as spoken to always being open to returning, as long as her schedule allows.
Unfortunately, that won't be Bridgerton season 5 as it's already been confirmed that Francesca Bridgerton (Hannah Dodd) will be taking center stage for her love story with Michaela Stirling (Masali Baduza). The fifth season of the Netflix hit has added a trio of new stars to the cast: Tega Alexander as Christoper Anderson, Jacqueline Boatswain as Helen Stirling, and Gemma Knight Jones as Lady Elizabeth Ashworth.
We might not be seeing Nicola Coughlan and Simone Ashley on screen together in Bridgerton season 5 (still keeping our fingers crossed that will be the case!), but they will both make an appearance in Only Murders in the Buidling season 6 later this year. Whether they act together or not, it will be amazing to see the Bridgerton stars back in action and making us laugh!
