There are lots of changes from last week's top five lists of most viewed shows and movies on Netflix. The latest details are now on TUDUM and reveal eight new entries across the two lists. Time then to take a closer look at whats new and the two that remained.

With lots of movies being added over recent weeks and a few departing from the platform, some changes were almost inevitable. Though I didn't expect to see just one remain unchanged from last week. As is often the case, some favorite old characters make a reappearance, too.

Likewise, in terms of shows there were some big hitters arriving on our screens recently. That's definitely had an impact this week with just one remaining from the previous week. The list highlights the ongoing popularity of a docuseries to get behind a story we know and fits well alongside the demand for great drama and thrillers.

Top five most watched movies on Netflix week ending Feb. 26

5 - Minions

Minions is, of course, part of the Despicable Me series. This was the third movie from that franchise and was released in 2015. Its storyline is set as a prequel to Despicable Me from 2010. All the usual comic capers from the animated characters as you'd expect.

4 - To Catch A Killer

This somewhat dark thriller from 2023 stars Shailene Woodley from Big Little Lies as an unhappy Baltimore cop on the beat. There's no time to dwell on that, though, with a sniper on the loose picking off victims randomly. She has to work with an FBI agent, played by Ben Mendelsohn, to bring this to an end.

3 - Despicable Me 3

Showing that you can't keep a minion down Despicable Me 3 rises to third place. It’s the fourth movie in the franchise, with Minions intervening in terms of releases.  The storyline follows on from Despicable Me 2. The film has probably had a boost after the first two Despicable Me movies were dropped from Netflix at the start of February.

2 - Uncharted

A 2022 movie pops into the top five this week with its round-the-world adventure for treasure hunter Nathan Drake. Drake is played by Tom Holland, and there’s Mark Wahlberg in the role of his mentor Sully. Likened a little to a thinner version of a National Treasure movie it’s still a decent watch with plenty of action.

1 - La Dolce Villa

The only non-mover from last week's top five movies and still in the top spot. Proving again the popularity of a good romcom. This has Scott Foley surrounded by Italian charm and scenery as he helps his daughter arrange to restore an old villa in serious disrepair.

5 - Cobra Kai: Season 6

It's the only show that kept a top-five place from last week. The return of the latest set of five episodes in this sixth and final season is keeping comedy-drama and martial arts fans happy. Plenty of spills and thrills alongside the humor.

4 - Love Is Blind: Season 8

Season eight of jaw-dropping reality TV as more groups of singles sign up for the dating experiment. Nine new episodes are full of will they/won’t they get engaged before they meet in person moments. I bet even those who scorn the show would be hooked if they watched it.

3 - The Search For Instagram's Worst Con Artist

If you have been enjoying watching Apple Cider Vinegar, new out this month on Netflix, then this is ideal for you. It’s a docuseries looking at the true story behind the chief character, Belle Gibson. Find out more about her lie based fame.

2 - Zero Day

You don't get much bigger than Robert De Niro playing his first starring in a TV series. He plays an ex-US President, George Mullen, who steps in to investigate a devastating global cyber attack. Conspiracies, truth, and lies, who to trust, and where to turn next. Thank goodness we have De Niro in charge of the case.

1 - American Murder: Gabby Petito

This true crime documentary, spread over three episodes takes a deep look into the disappearance and tragic murder of blogger Gabby Petito. She and her fiance, Brian, take a cross-country trip to the American West. It proves to be the trip of her lifetime. The episodes focus on how it unfolded as told by her loved ones. A harrowing watch in places.
