Let's be real. Harlan Coben’s shows are basically taking over the entire thriller section on Netflix, and honestly, we’re not even mad about it. Every time you scroll through, it’s impossible to ignore his name popping up again and again. I mean, there's The Stranger, The Innocent, Fool Me Once, Missing You, Stay Close, etc. Seriously, the list goes on.

His most recent hit, Run Away, grabbed audiences immediately when it dropped on Netflix on New Year's Day. From its engaging plot to its complex characters and jaw-dropping twists, it's not surprising that viewers were instantly hooked.

Run Away plunges you into a world of suspense, following Simon Greene, a father whose world unravels when his eldest daughter disappears. What begins as a desperate search quickly escalates into a tense journey filled with secrets, lies, dangerous confrontations, and shocking revelations that keep you guessing at every turn.

Since its premiere, Run Away has ranked somewhere on Netflix's top 10 TV shows list. It has also accumulated millions of views. With it only being two weeks since its release, there will likely be even more people tuning in as word spreads about just how gripping Run Away really is. However, we think Coben’s next project will soon eclipse this show.

I Will Find You is set to be released on Netflix in 2026

There's usually more than one Netflix series adaptation of a Coben book released each year. Run Away was the first for 2026, and I Will Find You will most likely be the next. Coben has many more shows in the works, but only these two were confirmed for release this year. Based on everything we know so far about I Will Find You, we think this upcoming mystery thriller series is going to blow Run Away out of the water.

The show's premise alone makes it clear why it might outshine Run Away. I Will Find You isn’t just a suspenseful story about a missing child. It’s a high-stakes thriller about a father wrongfully imprisoned for his son’s supposed murder, only to discover there’s a chance his child is still alive. This plot will surely draw in a lot of people.

Then, there's the star-studded cast. Coben adaptations are known for strong casts, but I Will Find You arguably surpasses Run Away in star wattage. You have Sam Worthington leading the series, an actor with global recognition thanks to blockbuster hits like the Avatar film series. Other well-known actors such as Milo Ventimiglia, Britt Lower, Logan Browning, Erin Richards, Madeleine Stowe, and Clancy Brown are also in the cast. While Run Away had talented actors, the I Will Find You cast has a broader mainstream appeal, which can draw more casual viewers who might not typically watch a thriller.

We also have to talk about I Will Find You's setting. Run Away was set in the United Kingdom, which worked perfectly for its story. However, I Will Find You is set in the United States. This gives it an instantly familiar backdrop for the largest Netflix market. The U.S. setting also gives the show international appeal because American crime dramas are popular worldwide. Additionally, there's the fact that I Will Find You is the first Coben show to be set in the United States. Since this is something new, this could also attract more viewers.

Finally, there’s the “built-in Harlan Coben momentum.” By the time I Will Find You arrives on Netflix, Run Away will have already stirred excitement around Coben’s work for 2026. With fans from Run Away and Coben’s track record of previous hits, anticipation for this next series is already huge. This momentum gives I Will Find You a head start, making it likely to draw viewers quickly and create even more buzz than Run Away did when it premiered.

However, keep in mind that this is just our opinion. Nothing is guaranteed until viewers press play, but all signs point to I Will Find You having everything it takes to be an even bigger hit than Run Away.

Be sure to stay tuned to Netflix Life because we'll be sharing the official release date for I Will Find You as soon as it's announced!
